<p>The compact SUV market saw overall month-over-month growth of 14 per cent in March 2023 compared to February. While the majority of SUVs in the category saw double-digit sales growth, the Kia Seltos saw a decline of 18 per cent.&nbsp;With the largest MoM increase of 34.59 per cent and an impressive total of just over 14,000 units, the Hyundai Creta maintains its top position in the segment. Despite continuing to hold the largest market share at 29 per cent, new segment competitors have caused it to lose some market share since the previous year.&nbsp;With sales of the Maruti Grand Vitara surpassing 10,000 units and holding onto the second-place spot in the segment's March sales, demand for the vehicle appears to be continuing its upward trend. <h2>Hyundai Creta Leads the Chart</h2>

<p>Last month, the Hyundai <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/hyundai/creta/" target="_blank">Creta</a> sold 14,026 units, accounting for 35.53 per cent of compact SUV sales. The Creta experienced 33.18 per cent&nbsp;YoY growth and 34.59 per cent&nbsp;MoM growth with 10,532 units sold last year and 10,421 units sold a month ago. Volumes increased by 3,494 units year on year and 3,605 units month on&nbsp;month. The Creta is the only vehicle in this segment to show positive YoY and MoM growth. After the Brezza and the Nexon, it is India's third best-selling SUV. Last month, Maruti Suzuki <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/grand-vitara/" target="_blank">Grand Vitara</a> sold 10,045 units. With relatively steady growth, it is getting closer to the Creta's sales. In comparison to 9,183 units sold the previous month, the Grand Vitara increased by 9.39 per cent&nbsp;MoM and now accounts for 25.44 per cent&nbsp;of the market. MoM volume gain is 862 units.</p>

<p>The Mahindra <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mahindra/scorpio/" target="_blank">Scorpio</a>, which sold over 8,500 units last month, has surpassed the Kia Seltos to take third place among SUVs in its segment. It is important to remember that this total does, in fact, include numbers for both the Scorpio N and the&nbsp;Scorpio Classic. More than 26 per cent&nbsp;was the second-highest MoM increase. Additionally, its sales in March were higher than the six-month average. The only SUV in the segment to have decreased by more than 18 per cent&nbsp;is the Kia Seltos, which drops to fourth place in the sales chart. Over 6,500 units of Kia's compact&nbsp;SUV were sold last month.&nbsp;With sales of more than 3,400 units and a slight MoM growth of over 5 per cent, the Toyota Hyryder is in reasonably steady demand.</p>

<p>The Volkswagen Taigun and the Skoda Kushaq sales have increased over the previous month by 26.3 per cent and 19.25 per cent, respectively. Their overall market share was still under 10 per cent, though. For the Astor, MG only received about 1,200 orders, keeping them near the bottom of the list. Nevertheless, the Astor's MoM sales rose by 12 per cent.</p>

<h2>2023 Hyundai Creta: Safety Features</h2>

<p><a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/2023-hyundai-venue-creta-alcazar-get-new-safety-features-and-price-hike-112365/">Hyundai updated its model line for the 2023 model year and included several safety features as standard equipment.</a> Six airbags, ESC, VSM, hill assist, rear disc brakes, seatbelt height adjustment, and ISOFIX mounts are standard on the Creta's base E trim. Six airbags were previously only available on the highest-spec SX(O) trim, while ESC, hill assist, rear disc brakes, and ISOFIX mounts were added starting with the SX trim. The 60:40 rear seat split/fold feature, which was also previously available from SX trim onward, is now included as standard on the Creta.</p>

<h2>2023 Hyundai Creta: Engine and Gearbox</h2>

<p><a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/hyundai-to-discontinue-this-creta-version-in-india-model-removed-from-website-112459/">The 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine has been phased out</a>, and the Creta now has two engine options: a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. With the addition of idle start/stop technology, both powertrains have been kept. The Creta engines can run on E20 fuel and are Real Driving Emissions&nbsp;or RDE-compliant.</p>

<h2>2023 Hyundai Creta: Prices</h2>

<p>Prices for the Hyundai Creta were revised following the updates. The price of every petrol variant increased by Rs 20,000, while the cost of diesel versions increased by Rs 45,000. The Hyundai Creta now has a starting price of Rs 10.84 lakh and a maximum price of Rs 19.13 lakh (ex-showroom).</p>
