I recently purchased a Kia Syros GTX+ Petrol. The cabin has a premium feel, loaded with tech. Turbo engine and DCT gearbox are smooth and responsive. Suspension feels firm at times but ride quality is still good in the city.

The Kia Syros Diesel Automatic impressed us with its space, comfort, and refinement. Diesel engine is silent and smooth. Rear sunshades and ventilated seats are thoughtful. Touchscreen sometimes lags though.

The Kia Syros Turbo Petrol is stylish and practical. Turbo engine is punchy, steering is light. City mileage is 11–12 km/l. R-Line styling stands out. Great for daily Mumbai commutes.

More than three years on, this three-row offering was due for an update. But instead of introducing a direct replacement for the old model, Kia has launched a new, more premium and feature-rich vehicle based on the Carens: the Carens Clavis. While Carens reflects its lineage, Clavis derives from a Latin phrase meaning ‘the Golden Key’. So, what key updates set the Carens Clavis apart from the standard Carens?</p>

<p>Despite sharing its underpinnings with the Carens, the Clavis sports a distinctly different look. The front fascia is mostly closed off – reminiscent of electric vehicles – and resembles Kia’s newer models like the Syros and EV9. <p>Step inside the Clavis, and you are welcomed by a noticeably more premium and modern cabin. There’s a clear focus on technology and aesthetics, with improved materials on the dashboard that are both visually appealing and well-finished.</p><p>

As for the third row, it’s reasonably comfortable for short trips but is more suitable for children than adults due to limited under-thigh support and legroom. That said, Kia has thoughtfully equipped the third row with AC vents, reading lights, two USB-C ports, and cupholders, adding to the overall practicality.</p>

<p>The drivetrain options for the Clavis are the same as the Carens – a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Power and torque figures are also the same, but the Clavis now gets a 6-speed manual transmission option with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol variant.</p><p>

The new Kia Carens Clavis is here with fresh styling and more features, but does it offer enough to stand out as a better choice for Indian families?

<p>Kia has kicked off December with a small glimpse of the next-generation Seltos, set to debut next week. While the teaser video keeps most details under wraps, it offers a hint of a new design language for the midsize SUV, in line with Kia’s global styling standards. The SUV seems to have a wide, chrome-accented ‘Tiger Nose’ grille, with the signature <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/kia/">Kia</a> badge positioned prominently above it. The DRLs are sleek and vertically positioned, while the headlights are cleverly integrated at the&nbsp;grille’s edges, featuring striking C-shaped and horizontal LED patterns. </p><p>Other highlights include LED welcome animations&nbsp;for both the DRLs and headlights, and a panoramic sunroof.
