<p><strong>This new Maruti Suzuki DZire will sport a completely new design but will come with the same engine options as its predecessor </strong></p>

<p>Following its official unveil a few weeks back, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/">Maruti Suzuki</a> is now all set to being in the third-generation DZire. Unlike its previous iterations, this new model ditches the ‘Swift’ prefix and will just be called DZire. Bookings for the new Maruti Suzuki DZire have officially commenced at a minimum booking amount of Rs 11,000.</p>

<p>Being a new generation model, the DZire sports a lot of changes over its predecessor. The most obvious one of the lot is the new design. It now gets a larger chrome front grille, sleeker headlights with LED Daytime Running Lamps, classier looking allow wheels and a redesigned tail section. But if we were to highlight one design aspect that impressed us the most, it would easily be the overall proportions of the car.</p>

<p>As far as the interior is concerned, the DZire gets an all-new dashboard with faux wood inlays. The steering wheel is now flat-bottomed while the central touchscreen infotainment has been borrowed from the newer Maruti Suzuki models like the Vitara Brezza, Baleno and the likes. The infotainment system comes with Bluetooth, USB, AUX connectivity, navigation, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The new DZire also comes with a rear aircon vent and a 12v charger for the passengers at the back. Space inside has increased as the new DZire is wider and has a longer wheelbase than its predecessor. Safety tech in the DZire includes ABS, dual airbags and ISOFIX as standard fitments.</p>

<p>The new Maruti Suzuki DZire is based on the Heartect platform that also underpins the Baleno. This new platform has allowed the DZire to shed 85kg from the petrol variants and up to 105kg from the diesel. At the heart though, the DZire will continue to be offered with the same engine options – a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder petrol and a 1.3-litre 4-pot diesel. Both engine options will come mated to a 5-speed transmission as standard or you can even choose the AGS (Automated Manual Transmission).</p>

<p>Like the outgoing Swift DZire, this new generation model too will compete against the likes of the <a href="https://www.autox.com/reviews/car-reviews/2018-new-honda-amaze-review-first-drive-103637/">Honda Amaze</a>, Hyundai Xcent, Ford Aspire, Tata Zest and the likes. To be offered in 7 variants, expect the new DZire to be launched at a starting price of Rs 5.8 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).</p>
