While we await the prices, the best-selling carmaker&nbsp;has shared key details about its electric car ahead of its launch in the country.&nbsp;These include the battery, range, variants, and pricing options.&nbsp;We already know that the e Vitara is on sale in Europe with two battery pack options and both FWD and AWD configurations.&nbsp;</p><p>However,<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/"> Maruti Suzuki</a> has confirmed that the India-spec version will not offer AWD.&nbsp;That said, the e Vitara will come with the same two battery pack options as its international counterpart (a 49kWh and a 61kWh), available across three variants (Delta, Zeta, and Alpha).</p><p>Maruti Suzuki’s first electric vehicle sits on the dedicated HEARTECT-e platform and can seat five people. There are glossy black accents and semi-leatherette seats that merge style with comfort.&nbsp;For the first time in a Maruti Suzuki, the e Vitara features a two-spoke steering wheel.</p><p>Among other highlights are a dual-screen setup (10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment and a 10.1-inch digital driver’s display), an Infinity sound system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, electrically adjustable&nbsp;and foldable ORVMs, a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a PM2.5 air filter, and ventilated front seats, and&nbsp;sliding and reclining rear seats.</p><p>The safety is taken care of by up to seven airbags, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), an electronic parking brake with auto hold,&nbsp;a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and Level-2 ADAS, with features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, and lane keep assist.&nbsp;It is worth noting that the e Vitara has scored&nbsp;a  5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. </p><h2><strong>Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Three Ways to Buy the SUV</strong></h2><p>Maruti Suzuki will offer three unique ownership models for its first EV in India to suit different customer preferences and financial plans.&nbsp;Here's a look at the options:</p><p><strong>Battery As A Service (BaaS): </strong>This option will let you pay a separate fee for the battery pack, lowering the initial cost of the e Vitara. It will offer flexibility,&nbsp;allowing owners to enjoy the vehicle’s performance and range at a reduced upfront price.</p><p><strong>Subscription Plan:</strong> This model of purchase offers flexibility with a fixed monthly rental. Maruti Suzuki has showcased its first EV, the e Vitara, in India, following its premiere at the Auto Expo earlier this year. Here's all you need to know about the SUV's expected price, battery configuration, and range. 

<p><strong>-Maruti Suzuki's first EV scored 31.49/32 for Adult Occupant Protection and 43/49 for Child Occupant Protection.<br>-It comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS, seven airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX anchors, and a 360-degree camera.</strong></p><p>The <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/e-vitara/">Maruti Suzuki e Vitara</a> has earned a 5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. It is the brand’s first-ever EV&nbsp;and the fourth model overall to achieve this top rating, following the Victoris,&nbsp;Invicto, and Dzire. The e-Vitara scored 31.49 out of 32 points for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 43 out of 49&nbsp;points for Child Occupant Protection (COP). When it was subjected to the frontal crash test at a speed of 64km/h,&nbsp;the electric SUV demonstrated ‘good’ protection for the driver's and passenger’s head, neck, thighs, and pelvis. The driver’s chest protection was deemed ‘adequate’, whereas the&nbsp;passenger’s was rated ‘good’. Both of the driver’s tibias were rated ‘adequate’,&nbsp;while the co-driver’s tibia protection was assessed as ‘good’.</p><iframe width="400" height="345" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/HWg9aRju5PM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe><p><br></p><p>Additionally, the driver’s&nbsp;feet were also well protected, earning a ‘good’ rating. The side pole test also confirmed the same level of protection throughout.</p><h2><strong>Maruti Suzuki e Vitara:&nbsp;Child Occupant Protection (COP) Rating Explained</strong></h2><p>The e Vitara scored 43 out of 49 points overall in the COP category. It achieved a perfect dynamic score of 24 out of 24 points and 12&nbsp;out of 12 points for child restraint system (CRS) installation. In the vehicle assessment,&nbsp;the SUV scored 7 out of 13 points.</p>

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara has earned a 5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. It is the brand’s first-ever EV and the fourth model overall to achieve this top rating. 

<p><a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/">Maruti Suzuki </a>will enter India’s EV market with the launch of the e Vitara tomorrow,&nbsp;December 2. The electric SUV made its India debut earlier this year at the Bharat&nbsp;Mobility Auto Expo and is already on sale in Europe. It is developed&nbsp;and manufactured in India at Maruti Suzuki’s Hansalpur facility in Gujarat.&nbsp;</p><p>For the uninitiated, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the very first unit of the&nbsp;e Vitara in August, marking a notable milestone in the country’s ‘Make in India’&nbsp;initiative. The e Vitara will be exported to over 100 countries,&nbsp;including key markets such as Europe and Japan. It will be offered&nbsp;with two battery options and is said to deliver a range of more than 500 kilometres. </p><h2><strong>Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Here’s What to Expect</strong></h2><p>Globally, Maruti Suzuki offers the<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/maruti-suzuki/e-vitara/"> e Vitara</a> with a choice of two battery packs: 49kWh and 61kWh. The front-wheel-drive variants produce 142bhp and 192.5Nm with the 49kWh battery,&nbsp;while the larger 61kWh pack increases output to 172bhp without altering torque.&nbsp;The SUV is also offered in an all-wheel-drive configuration featuring a dual-motor&nbsp;setup that delivers a combined 181bhp and 300Nm. The 61kWh version can accelerate&nbsp;from 0–100km/h in about 8.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 150km/h. </p><p>In terms of range,&nbsp;the WLTP-certified figures are 344km for the 49kWh FWD model, 428km for the 61kWh FWD variant,&nbsp;and 394km for the AWD version. I say that because the Grand Vitara was already performing well and maintaining a strong presence in the segment. It seems that the Victoris is aimed at expanding the brand’s reach further in the segment, given that it is sold through the Arena network, which comprises over 3,000 outlets – six times the number of Nexa outlets. This will allow the Victoris to target a much larger customer base. <p>The Victoris impresses with its striking design, which breaks away from Maruti Suzuki’s previous products. Crafted entirely at Maruti Suzuki’s India design studio, largely staffed by Indian designers, it commands strong road presence. Some of its design highlights include elements such as a sleek front fascia, a sharply styled rear end, a sloping roof, and a full-width taillight, which give it a distinctive character.</p>

<p>Inside, the cabin is a noticeable step up from other Maruti Suzuki models. While it still shares parts with other Maruti Suzuki products, the larger multimedia touchscreen and full-colour instrument cluster are visible upgrades. Similarly, while the quality of the cabin has definitely improved, there are a few hard plastics that could do with some improvement. In terms of practicality, the Victoris fares decently – while the boot space is generous, and the front seats are spacious and comfortable, the sloping roof compromises headroom for passengers taller than six feet.</p>

<p>Another major upgrade is the extensive list of standard equipment, making the Victoris the most feature-rich Maruti Suzuki product in India. This includes Level 2 ADAS, making it the brand’s first model to offer this technology. It has ample grip, well-weighted steering, and a suspension tuned to handle a wide range of road conditions. In fact, the platform seems capable of handling significantly more power. Coupled with its strong value proposition – it received one of the highest scores in that category – and excellent fuel economy numbers, exceeding 20km/l in everyday use, the Victoris emerges as a highly satisfying package and a deserving winner of our ‘Best of 2025’ award.

And while SUVs may currently dominate the market, the Dzire reminds us why a well-engineered sedan still makes perfect sense on Indian roads.</p>

<p>Built on Maruti’s Heartect platform, the Dzire’s greatest strength lies in its simplicity and ease of use. It’s light, compact, and delightfully easy to drive, especially in congested city conditions. The chassis feels balanced, and the steering is light yet precise, making tight city manoeuvres a breeze, while the suspension soaks up most surface imperfections with impressive composure. <p>Powering the car is Maruti’s 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, which produces 80bhp and 112Nm of torque and is paired with either a five-speed manual or an AMT. The engine is responsive enough for everyday driving and remarkably efficient. That said, the AMT gearbox remains its weakest link. In stop-go traffic, it hesitates between shifts, making progress feel jerky and inconsistent. On the highway, however, the Dzire settles into a comfortable rhythm, delivering impressive efficiency and surprising stability. Maruti Suzuki Dzire at autoX Awards: Best Cars of 2025 Ranked

Built on Maruti’s Heartect platform, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire’s strength is its simple, easy-to-use nature. It stays light, compact, and effortless to drive in city traffic.

<p>Maruti Suzuki is set to launch its first electric car, the e Vitara, in India on December 2, 2025. The SUV, which made its global debut last year, was among Maruti’s prominent displays at the Auto Expo 2025. In August, Prime Minister&nbsp;Narendra Modi flagged off the very first unit at the Hansalpur manufacturing facility in Gujarat.&nbsp;The e Vitara will underscore a major milestone in the nation’s 'Make in India'&nbsp;initiative. At the rear, LED taillights, a shark&nbsp;fin antenna, and a roof-mounted spoiler complete the look.</p><h2><strong>Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Interior and Features</strong></h2><p>The e Vitara has a dual-tone black and tan cabin, featuring an uncluttered, minimalist dashboard. It comes equipped with dual screens (one for infotainment&nbsp;and another for the digital driver display). Marking a first for Maruti Suzuki, the e Vitara features a two-spoke steering wheel.&nbsp;It comes loaded with premium amenities, such as a 10.1-inch&nbsp;touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto,&nbsp;a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and wireless charging.</p><p>In terms of safety, the electric SUV packs an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, Level-2 ADAS, seven airbags, parking&nbsp;sensors front and rear, all-disc brakes, ABS with EBD, and electronic stability control. </p><h2><strong>Maruti Suzuki E-Vitara: Powertrain</strong></h2><p>The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is expected to offer two battery options: a 49kWh and a 61kWh, both built with BYD’s LFP ‘Blade’ cells.
