<p>MG Motor India is gearing up for the launch of the<a href="https://www.autox.com/news/car-news/mg-hector-facelift-exterior-design-teased-ahead-of-india-launch-122405/"> MG Hector facelift</a> on 15 December, and the update is set to draw strong interest from SUV buyers across the country. The brand will reveal the SUV with a refreshed design, a revised cabin layout and an upgraded tech package. Production continues at the Halol facility in Gujarat, with deliveries scheduled for early 2026. The facelift will likely keep the both petrol and diesel engine options. </p>

<p>On the outside, the Hector facelift will feature a revised grille with horizontal slats, new LED headlamps with sequential indicators and a redesigned lower bumper with larger air dams. The rear bumper carries updated diffuser sections, while connected LED tail lamps and 19-inch alloy wheels complete the styling package. The body panels and overall dimensions stay unchanged.</p>

<p><br></p><p>Inside, the dashboard is expected to feature a 14-inch portrait touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Illuminated steering controls, dual-tone leatherette seats and ambient lighting across the doors and footwells add to the experience. A digital instrument cluster displays key information, while multi-zone climate control can be operated via gestures. </p><p>Features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging and connected car functions round out the technology suite.</p>
<p>Engine options are expected to remain unchanged. The current 1.5-litre turbo-petrol produces 141bhp and 250Nm, while the 2.0-litre diesel delivers 167bhp and 350Nm, available with manual or CVT transmissions depending on the variant.</p>

The teaser suggests that the Hector could return with a set of revisions, marking what may become the first major update under the JSW Group’s leadership. The Hector, which has been in production at the Halol plant in Gujarat since 2019, continues to be MG’s top-selling SUV in India. Test units believed to be the facelifted model have been spotted near Pune under camouflage. These sightings indicate that the overall silhouette may remain close to the current model, with suspension and aerodynamic improvements during highway testing.</p>

<p>The MG Windsor EV, which went on sale in India last year, has recorded a notable sales milestone of 50,000 units and is now the fastest-selling EV&nbsp;in the country. The MG car recently marked its first anniversary with a limited-run Windsor Inspire&nbsp;Edition. It is also offered in a new top-spec variant, the Windsor Pro, featuring a larger 52.9kWh battery, which was not available at the time&nbsp;of launch. </p><p>The <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/mg/windsor-ev/">Windsor EV </a>is offered in multiple trims with flexible pricing options, including the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) plan.&nbsp;The base Excite variant costs Rs 10 lakh plus Rs 3.9 per km with BaaS, or Rs 14 lakh without it. Meanwhile, the Essence Pro is available at Rs 13.39 lakh plus Rs 4.5 per km with BaaS, and Rs 18.39 lakh without the plan.</p><h2><strong>MG Windsor EV: Powertrain</strong></h2><p>The standard Windsor EV comes with a 38kWh battery, and a range of 332 kilometres (MIDC Part 1+2). <p>Under that striking design sit two electric motors producing a formidable 510bhp and 725Nm. With a claimed top speed of 200km/h and a 0 – 100 km/h time of just 3.2 seconds, this thing is properly quick. On the track, it rockets down straights and darts through corners with remarkable agility. That said, at nearly two tonnes, you do feel its weight during quick direction changes. Still, every input evokes an immediate response and is cleanly executed. The Cyberster doesn’t just look fast – it is fast. It features a 77kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 580km and can charge from . A DC fast charger can take it from 10% to 80% in just about an hour.</p>

<p>Slip into the driver’s seat, and you’re greeted by a chunky flat-bottomed steering wheel and a striking three-screen cockpit that’s futuristic and driver-focused. The cabin exudes a sense of quality – from the materials used inside to the overall fit and finish, everything feels premium and oozes quality. With the fabric roof up, insulation levels are impressive, muting most of the outside noise. <p>On the track, the Cyberster seems to be in its element – sharp, agile, and immensely engaging. However, step off the circuit and onto less-than-perfect Indian roads, and some of its compromises become apparent. The low ground clearance, sharply sculpted nose, and firm suspension setup don’t exactly make it ideal for everyday driving. Given the country’s hot weather, that roof will likely stay up most of the time. But then, the Cyberster was never meant to be a practical, all-season companion. Its purpose is clear – to turn heads, to make you feel something every time you see it, and to deliver electrifying on-track performance on demand. As India’s only all-electric drop-top convertible, it does precisely that with conviction, charisma, and just the right amount of madness.

The M9 is MG’s most expensive model in India. Designed to dominate the luxury MPV space, the M9 shows that MG has left no stone unturned in creating this machine. It’s also one of the biggest vehicles on sale in India, something you realise the moment you stand beside it. The M9 looks like a nightclub bouncer in a tailored suit – huge, intimidating, and impossible to ignore.</p>

<p>Those imposing proportions pay off inside. Space is generous in every direction, and even third-row occupants have little reason to complain. The real highlight, however, is the second row, which is arguably one of the best in the business. <p>The cabin itself feels opulent, but not flawless. The dual-screen setup on the dashboard – comprising a digital instrument cluster and an infotainment display – feels dated, with thick bezels and a basic-looking UI that doesn’t match the rest of the interior’s premium vibe.</p>

<p>As expected, the M9 wasn’t the quickest on the track. But being an EV works to its advantage. The instant torque from the electric powertrain makes it feel brisk off the line, and the floor-mounted battery pack gives it a noticeably lower centre of gravity than most petrol or diesel MPVs of its size. MG Motor India has teased the Windsor EV Inspire Limited Edition, set to debut this festive season as part of its plan to expand its electric vehicle lineup.

<p>Thanks to my profession, I get to see and drive all kinds of vehicles. So, it takes something really unusual to catch me off guard. But MG managed to do just that with their latest offering, the M9 electric MPV. This is mostly thanks to its ginormous size. I actually stood in front of the vehicle for a few minutes to simply come to terms with its proportions. Yes, MPVs are supposed to be big so that they provide plenty of space, but the M9 is truly BIG!</p>

<p>But beyond the grandeur of the size, does this new electric MPV have enough to offer to sway customers in the highly picky luxury MPV segment in its favour?</p>

<h2>MG M9 First-row Review - Driven by comfort</h2>

<p>If you bought the M9, chances are that you won’t spend much time in the first row. But should you find yourself there, you’ll still be perfectly comfortable. The driver seat is 12-way power-adjustable, while the front passenger gets 8-way power adjustment. Both seats come with ventilation, heating, and a massage function. Combined with a very comfortable cushion, these seats are very welcoming. I am six feet tall and had no trouble with the space on offer in the first row either.</p><p>

Storage is well thought out too – large bottle holders in the doors, a pair of cup holders on the armrest, and a generous tray in the middle of the floor, thanks to the lack of a conventional transmission. Simply put, there is no shortage of space, whether for people or their belongings.</p>

      
    
      
    


<p>The dashboard has a mostly clean design with minimal physical controls below the touchscreen. This is something I am not a big fan of. I find it tedious to rely on the touchscreen for nearly every function. MG should have given some buttons for basic functions so that the driver does not have to shift their focus from the road to the touchscreen.</p><p>

    </p><p>Speaking of the touchscreen, it is a 12.3-inch unit with a clean, intuitive interface and a snappy touch response. That said, the thick bezels around it detract from the otherwise modern cabin aesthetic. The 7-inch digital MID has a similar issue and the graphics look a bit outdated. In fact, the bezels feel like something you would find on screens from the early 2000s. I also noticed a curious omission – the MID doesn’t display the battery percentage in numbers; it just shows a standard battery icon, which is not as helpful. So, you will not really know if the battery is at 85% or 70%.</p>

      
    
      
    


<h2>MG M9 Second-row Review - Volume &amp; Vanity</h2>

<p>The second-row experience in the M9 is really something special. You get a pair of 16-way power-adjustable captain seats, each with an embedded touchscreen, which allows you to control not just your seat position but also the 64-colour ambient lighting, window position, and AC settings. The seats also come with heating, ventilation, and a massage function – all of which can be controlled via the aforementioned touchscreen. Once again, the seat comfort is amazing. There is ottoman support and you can even recline the backrest to have a lounge-like experience.</p><p>

    </p><p>Space is abundant, and the large windows, along with the ‘yacht sunroof’, make for a very bright, airy, and inviting cabin. The quality of materials used inside is excellent throughout, adding to the overall sense of luxury. If I had to nitpick, I’d say that the presence of manual sunblinds in the second row feels a little out of place in an otherwise high-tech cabin.</p>

      
    
      
    


<p>Accessing the third row is a bit tricky – you have to squeeze through the narrow space between the second-row seats. The second row seats can be moved closer to each other or a bit further apart. In case you want to access the full recline, the seats will have to be closer to the middle but you can push them apart to have more space in the middle for passengers to access the final row. Once you get to the third row, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the space on offer – it’s enough for three average-sized adults to sit in reasonable comfort. You also get two USB-A ports and a pair of side-mounted AC vents, which is a nice touch.</p><p>

    </p><p>The only issue here is the lack of under-thigh support – a common issue with third-row benches. Now, even with the third-row seats pushed all the way back, the boot is spacious enough to accommodate a few small bags. And, then, there is the 55-litre frunk up-front for some extra storage. This is one MPV that can actually carry a decent amount of luggage, even with all three rows in use.</p>

      
    
      
    


<h2>MG M9 Drive Review - On the Move</h2>

<p>Propulsion is handled by a 242bhp motor mounted on the front axle, generating 350Nm of peak torque. On paper, the torque feels a bit low for an EV but, contrary to my doubts, this setup offers brisk acceleration despite the M9’s large proportions and the heavy weight of the 90kWh battery.</p><p>

    </p><p>No, it won’t launch like a rocket, but triple-digit speeds come easily, and the M9 feels right at home on the highway. In addition to the usual driving and regen modes, the M9 also offers modes for the steering and brake response – a surprising amount of driver-focused features for an MPV. Sadly, MG hasn’t made accessing these features particularly intuitive. As I mentioned earlier, there is a lack of buttons inside the cabin so you cannot access these options with any dials or buttons. You are forced to dig through the touchscreen menus to make adjustments. I feel that at least having paddle shifters behind the steering wheel to change regen modes would have been nice.</p><p>The M9 has a certified range of 548km from the 90kWh battery. While we did not have enough time to properly test out the real-world figure, I feel that it is good enough for a vehicle of this class, considering that most MPVs tend to run pre-planned and pre-defined routes. It is not a stellar figure and a longer range would have been more reassuring for sure. The M9 supports fast charging, which can charge the battery from 30% to 80% in just 30 minutes. Safety has been well addressed, too. The M9 comes loaded with a bunch of Level 2 ADAS functions and has already scored a 5-star rating in both ENCAP and ANCAP crash tests.</p><p>

<p>After spending some time behind the wheel of the M9, I realised that a fully-electric luxury MPV makes perfect sense, for you get a silent and refined in-cabin experience — basic qualities needed in a good people mover. However, the ride quality leaves you wanting more. The suspension tuning, in the current state, allows too many minor road imperfections to filter into the cabin – a surprising shortfall for a comfort-oriented vehicle. While seated on the seats at the back, I could feel a lot of the smaller undulations on the highway. On rougher roads, I also noticed some vibrations creeping into the third-row backrest. These issues can be addressed by a suspension recalibration, and I do hope that MG takes note of it as soon as possible.</p>

      
    
      
    
<h2>MG M9 Space - The Family Bruiser</h2>

<p>The M9 is a big MPV – really big! At 5,270mm long and 2,000mm wide, it’s the largest in the segment by some margin. Yet, despite its big size and a largely minimalistic design, MG has managed to sculpt the M9 into something that looks bold and genuinely attractive. It is offered in three understated colour options, complemented by thoughtful chrome accents on the front and rear bumpers as well as along the sides. The 19-inch alloy wheels, surprisingly, don’t look undersized – in fact, they suit the proportions quite well. Our all-black test unit did look menacing whether it was on the move or stationary.</p><p>

<p>My favourite design element, however, has to be the connected tail lights. Yes, nearly every car these days has a connected design, but this one really looks cool, especially at night. The way the single bar splits and then flows down along the sides adds real visual drama. Making a people mover look stylish is no easy task, but MG has pulled it off with finesse.</p>

<h2>MG M9 Price - MG’s Orbital Strike</h2>

<p>That’s what the M9 feels like – a behemoth that lands with sheer presence, segment-leading features, and a price tag to match. It costs ₹69.90 lakh (ex-showroom), thanks to being a semi-knocked down (SKD) unit. This is a great price for the offering and is sure to give rivals a headache.</p><p>

<p>With the M9, MG now has a truly solid luxury product in its portfolio. So, it makes sense that the company will be retailing it through their MG Select channel to offer customers a more premium experience. We have seen other manufacturers take a similar approach for their high-end offerings. The only aspect that the company needs to work on is ride comfort. A properly tuned suspension could elevate the M9 from a great electric MPV to a really exceptional one.</p>

MG M9 First Drive Review - Meganificient

MG’s new all-electric M9 storms into India’s luxury MPV space with massive size, segment-first features, and a price to rattle rivals.

<p>Driving in the rain is a skill that few people truly master, especially in a country like ours that sorely lacks proper driver training. Now, throw in a powerful convertible, an ultra-fast racetrack, and a day of torrential rain, and you have a perfect recipe for things to go wrong, very fast. However, when we faced a similar situation, we had little choice but to try our luck with the MG Cyberster.</p>

<h2>The Details</h2>

<p>Now, the Cyberster is MG’s flagship model in India, and it has a lot going for it. In terms of design, it looks simply brilliant. Sleek profile, flowing curves, and large wheels – it’s a design that oozes intent. The pointed, sleek front end and large headlights and taillights further add to its road presence. However, the Cyberster’s party piece has to be its scissor doors, which open dramatically at the touch of a button. They look cool and make for great visuals. But that’s not all! Their wide opening also makes getting in a lot easier. That said, given its low-slung design, it may not be the most comfortable car to get in and out of for older customers.</p><div style="width: 100%; height: auto;" class="post-image">

    <p>Step inside, and the Cyberster continues to impress. With its large screens and generous use of leather in the cabin, it feels suitably premium. The seats are large and comfortable, and the various surfaces in the cabin feel quite plush. Opening and closing the large doors via the dashboard-mounted buttons may require a few tries to get used to at first, but it quickly becomes second nature. Given that it’s a convertible, practicality is not its strong suit. The space inside is somewhat limited, with minimal storage and just enough room for two occupants. Because of the incessant rain, we couldn’t drive it with the roof down, so I can’t comment on that experience. What I can tell you is that with the roof up, the NVH levels are decent and remain well under control.</p>
    







<h2>Powerrrrr…</h2>

<p>To borrow Clarkson's adage, you truly grasp the Cyberster's appeal when you put your foot down. Powered by a dual-motor setup, which means all-wheel drive, the Cyberster packs a 77kWh battery, delivering 503bhp and 725Nm of torque. MG claims the Cyberster is Asia's fastest-accelerating EV convertible, sprinting from 0 – 100km/h in just 3.2 seconds. Again, given the rain and the wet track, we didn’t get an opportunity to verify this claim.</p><div style="width: 100%; height: auto;" class="post-image">

    <p>The claimed CLTC-rated range of the car is 580km, which is quite impressive. In real-world conditions, however, I’d expect something closer to 400 – 430km, depending on weather conditions and driving styles.</p>







<p>In our brief two-lap stint at the track, the Cyberster accelerated with conviction. Around corners, its low centre of gravity was quite evident, as was the direct steering, perfectly complementing its sports car character. While we couldn’t push it anywhere close to its limits, we did feel the weight of the battery pack, subtly shaping its driving dynamics. How it drives on the road, however, is a question we’ll answer once we’ve spent more time with it.</p><div style="width: 100%; height: auto;" class="post-image">

    <p>The real questions, in my opinion, are twofold. First, is the Indian customer looking for an EV convertible in a market that’s not particularly suited to them? MG Cyberster First Drive Review - Splashin' Fast

On a rain-soaked racetrack, the MG Cyberster showed that its performance and convertible charm don’t fade, even when the weather turns against you

<p>MG Motor has increased prices across several variants of the 2025 Astor SUV, with the hike going up to Rs 19,000 based on the model. The base Sprint 1.5 MT and Select 1.5 MT now cost Rs 18,000 more, while the Shine 1.5 MT and Sharp Pro 1.5 MT have received price bumps of Rs 19,000 and Rs 13,000, respectively. A flat Rs 15,000 increment applies to the Select 1.5 CVT, Sharp Pro 1.5 CVT, and its dual-tone version. All other variants have seen a Rs 17,000 rise. However, the price of the top-end Savvy Pro 1.3 Turbo AT variant remains unchanged. With these revisions, the MG Astor now carries a price tag ranging from Rs 11.48 lakh to Rs 18.55 lakh. Both mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures. </p><h2>2025 MG Astor: Engine Options</h2><p>Mechanically, the Astor continues with its familiar powertrain options. Among the newly available features are traction control, a panoramic sunroof, and a six-speaker sound system that was earlier offered only in the Select variant. The SUV also now includes premium Ivory leatherette upholstery, previously exclusive to higher trims, giving the cabin a more upscale vibe. Additional conveniences include a wireless phone charger, ventilated front seats, and wireless connectivity for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other notable additions include a power-adjustable driver’s seat with six-way settings, a 10.1-inch touchscreen interface, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, cruise control, and automatic air conditioning.</p><h2>2025 MG Astor: Safety Features</h2><p>On the safety front, the Astor packs in hill-start and descent control, electronic stability control (ESC), six airbags, and ABS with EBD. MG Astor SUV Becomes Expensive by Rs 19,000 in India; Check New Prices

The MG Astor SUV offers a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine (108bhp/144Nm) with 5MT or CVT, and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol (138bhp/220Nm) paired with a 6-speed AT.

<p>MG Motor India has introduced a price adjustment for the Windsor EV, now in effect. The revision impacts only the top-end Essence Pro variant, which sees an increase of Rs 21,200, bringing its new ex-showroom cost to Rs 18.31 lakh. All other trims retain their previous pricing. Marketed as a Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV), the Windsor EV range spans five variants: Excite, Exclusive, Essence, Exclusive Pro, and Essence Pro, with prices now ranging from Rs 14 lakh to Rs 18.31 lakh (ex-showroom). Although it continues to produce 134bhp and 200Nm of torque, the upgraded battery significantly extends its range, offering up to 449km on a full charge, compared to the ARAI-certified 332km of the standard model.</p><h2>MG Windsor EV: Features</h2><p>Inside, the EV gets a refreshed interior theme featuring a beige-and-black dual-tone layout. Beige highlights are seen on the seats, door panels, headliner, and armrests, while the dashboard and other surfaces sport a contrasting black finish. The equipment list remains extensive, including a 15.6-inch touchscreen, 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, rear AC vents, and aero-style rear seats with reclining functionality.</p><p>
