<p>The upcoming festive season will be more exciting for car&nbsp;buyers in India, as the Government has introduced a new GST regime that lowers taxes across segments. While&nbsp;small cars now attract a flat 18% GST, down from the earlier 28%&nbsp;plus cess. Meanwhile, mid-size cars,&nbsp;large cars, and SUVs, which were previously taxed at 28%&nbsp;GST plus up to 22% cess, now&nbsp;fall under a simplified 40% GST rate with&nbsp;no additional cess. Do note that the benefits vary based on specific criteria such as vehicle length and engine capacity. Renault, which offers only sub-4 metre models in India, stands to gain significantly from&nbsp;the revised GST structure.&nbsp;The Kiger, Triber, and&nbsp;Kwid will now attract 18% GST&nbsp;instead of 29%, translating to up to 11% in tax savings.
