<p>The upcoming festive season will be more exciting for car&nbsp;buyers in India, as the Government has introduced a new GST regime that lowers taxes across segments. While&nbsp;small cars now attract a flat 18% GST, down from the earlier 28%&nbsp;plus cess. Meanwhile, mid-size cars,&nbsp;large cars, and SUVs, which were previously taxed at 28%&nbsp;GST plus up to 22% cess, now&nbsp;fall under a simplified 40% GST rate with&nbsp;no additional cess.
