<p>I find it a really silly idea to simply rebadge Maruti's cars and market it as a Toyota. It only reflects Toyota's inability to come up with their own products. &nbsp;</p>

The recall affects models produced between December 2024&nbsp;and April 2025. The problem affects only the gasoline models, which feature an analogue fuel gauge in the instrument cluster. In some situations,&nbsp;the gauge may fail to show the correct fuel level, meaning the low fuel warning light might not turn on even when the tank is nearly empty.&nbsp;This could leave drivers unaware of the fuel shortage, increasing the risk of the engine shutting down or stalling while on the road. Notably, Maruti Suzuki recently issued a similar recall for the Grand Vitara, which shares the same technical platform as the Hyryder.</p><p>Toyota will proactively contact owners of the affected<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/toyota/urban-cruiser-hyryder/"> Urban Cruiser Hyryder</a> units through its dealer and service network to carry out inspections and replace faulty parts at no cost, as part of the voluntary recall. The CNG models come with a manual gearbox only, while the strong-hybrid version&nbsp;combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and battery, and is paired exclusively with a CVT.</p><p>The Urban Cruiser Hyryder comes packed with advanced features, including ventilated front seats, paddle shifters, ambient lighting, smartphone and smartwatch integration, and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Toyota Camry Hybrid continues to prove that sedans – particularly hybrids – still deserve a place in a world obsessed with SUVs. Now in its ninth generation, the new Camry offers a blend of modern design, greater efficiency, and a noticeably more engaging drive, while staying true to the trademark comfort that has long defined it.</p>

<p>The new design language gives it a sportier stance and features Toyota’s ‘hammerhead’ face with sharp LED headlights and a bold front grille. It’s sleek and purposeful, though perhaps a touch too aggressive for a luxury sedan. At 4,885mm, it’s longer than before. The 18-inch wheels add significantly to its overall presence. Inside, the warm tan leather upholstery and a clean horizontal dashboard layout lend it an elegant and calming ambience. <p>Powering the new Camry is a 2.5-litre petrol engine paired with Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system. The lighter, more efficient lithium-ion battery contributes to a combined output of 227bhp and 221Nm.  On the move, the Camry feels smoother and more responsive than before, thanks to a stiffer suspension setup, which enhances stability at high speeds. The eCVT gearbox, however, remains its weak link – it’s seamless and efficient but lacks engagement.</p>

<p>On the short loop of the Buddh International Circuit, the Camry posted a 1:11.6 lap time – just a tenth of a second slower than the BMW X3 xDrive20d, which produces 188bhp and 400Nm from its 2.0-litre diesel. That’s an impressive feat for a comfort-oriented hybrid. Toyota Camry at autoX Awards: Best Cars of 2025 Ranked

The Toyota Camry feels smoother and more responsive on the move, with a stiffer suspension that improves stability at higher speeds.

Toyota proudly calls the LC300 the “King of SUVs” on its website and marketing material—and looking at the Land Cruiser’s legacy across decades and generations, it’s hard to disagree. If not the king, it certainly sits among the top-ranking SUVs in the world in terms of go-anywhere capability. The Land Cruiser has been in continuous production since 1951, making it Toyota’s longest-running product line. Across its nine generations, it has sold over 10 million units globally. The model is particularly popular in regions with harsh environment, such as Australia and Africa – regions where durability and dependability aren’t optional but essential.</p>

<p>In India, however, most owners don’t buy the Land Cruiser for serious off-roading. The occasional long road trip or a Leh-Ladakh expedition is likely the harshest terrain an LC will ever see here. But there are other qualities that make it so compelling. First, reliability – being a Toyota, the LC is known for being indestructible in a world where luxury cars often suffer from electronic issues due to overcomplexity. Even the Thar and Scorpio drivers tend to stay away from an LC on the road.</p>

<p>In the final scores, the LC300 turned out to be a bit of a mixed bag. As expected, it lost points on the lap time, but it scored highly in terms of quality, refinement, and drivetrain performance. Priced between ₹2.16 and ₹2.25 crore, it might seem justifiable for what it offers, but many buyers in that price bracket prefer a more premium badge. So, while the LC300 remains one of my personal favourites from this year’s lineup, a few factors inevitably pulled down its overall score.

<p>Toyota has unveiled the ninth-generation Hilux for the global market, and the biggest news is the introduction of an electric powertrain for the first time. However, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/toyota/">Toyota</a> isn’t relying solely on electrification,&nbsp;realising that one solution doesn’t fit every market or buyer.
