<p>Powering the new Camry is a 2.5-litre petrol engine paired with Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system. The lighter, more efficient lithium-ion battery contributes to a combined output of 227bhp and 221Nm.  On the move, the Camry feels smoother and more responsive than before, thanks to a stiffer suspension setup, which enhances stability at high speeds. The eCVT gearbox, however, remains its weak link – it’s seamless and efficient but lacks engagement.</p>

<p>On the short loop of the Buddh International Circuit, the Camry posted a 1:11.6 lap time – just a tenth of a second slower than the BMW X3 xDrive20d, which produces 188bhp and 400Nm from its 2.0-litre diesel. That’s an impressive feat for a comfort-oriented hybrid. Toyota Camry at autoX Awards: Best Cars of 2025 Ranked

The Toyota Camry feels smoother and more responsive on the move, with a stiffer suspension that improves stability at higher speeds.

Toyota proudly calls the LC300 the “King of SUVs” on its website and marketing material—and looking at the Land Cruiser’s legacy across decades and generations, it’s hard to disagree. If not the king, it certainly sits among the top-ranking SUVs in the world in terms of go-anywhere capability. The Land Cruiser has been in continuous production since 1951, making it Toyota’s longest-running product line. Across its nine generations, it has sold over 10 million units globally. The model is particularly popular in regions with harsh environment, such as Australia and Africa – regions where durability and dependability aren’t optional but essential.</p>

<p>In India, however, most owners don’t buy the Land Cruiser for serious off-roading. The occasional long road trip or a Leh-Ladakh expedition is likely the harshest terrain an LC will ever see here. But there are other qualities that make it so compelling. First, reliability – being a Toyota, the LC is known for being indestructible in a world where luxury cars often suffer from electronic issues due to overcomplexity. Even the Thar and Scorpio drivers tend to stay away from an LC on the road.</p>

<p>In the final scores, the LC300 turned out to be a bit of a mixed bag. As expected, it lost points on the lap time, but it scored highly in terms of quality, refinement, and drivetrain performance. Priced between ₹2.16 and ₹2.25 crore, it might seem justifiable for what it offers, but many buyers in that price bracket prefer a more premium badge. So, while the LC300 remains one of my personal favourites from this year’s lineup, a few factors inevitably pulled down its overall score.

Toyota Land Cruiser 300 at autoX Awards: Best Cars of 2025 Ranked

Whether it’s an older generation or the new LC300, the Toyota SUV's towering stance and massive grille command instant respect on the road.

<p>Toyota has unveiled the ninth-generation Hilux for the global market, and the biggest news is the introduction of an electric powertrain for the first time. However, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/toyota/">Toyota</a> isn’t relying solely on electrification,&nbsp;realising that one solution doesn’t fit every market or buyer. Alongside the all-electric BEV, the lineup includes a 48V hybrid, traditional internal combustion engines for select regions,&nbsp;and even a hydrogen-powered version slated for 2028, under its multi-pathway strategy. </p><p>In India, the Hilux continues to be offered exclusively with the 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel&nbsp;engine shared with the Fortuner, producing 201bhp and 420Nm of torque with a manual gearbox,&nbsp; or 550Nm when paired with the automatic.</p><h2><strong>Toyota Hilux: Design and Features</strong></h2><p>

The BEV variant gets a single-action&nbsp;shift-by-wire selector. Wireless charging and rear USB ports&nbsp;keep passengers connected and powered. The electric power steering&nbsp;is also available (For the first time in a Hilux).</p><p>

    <p><br></p><p>With the MyToyota app, fleet managers can monitor up to 10 Hilux vehicles, track fuel or charge levels, and review journey history. </p><p>The Toyota T-Mate advanced safety suite has been considerably upgraded, depending on grade and market. It now includes Low Speed Acceleration Suppression, Proactive Driving Assist, and an Emergency Driving Stop&nbsp;System, with over-the-air updates ensuring seamless improvements. Other features include Blind Spot Monitor,&nbsp;Safe Exit Assist, and a Driver Monitor Camera. </p><h2><strong>New Toyota Hilux: Powertrain</strong></h2><p>The electric Hilux has a 59.2 kWh battery with dual eAxles that offers permanent AWD, and an estimated WLTP range of around 240 kilometres. It offers a payload of around 715 kg and a towing capacity close to 1,600 kg. The classic body-on-frame structure remains the same. A fuel cell version is expected to roll out by 2028. There is currently no official word on the launch of the electrified Hilux in India.&nbsp;</p>
