The recall affects models produced between December 2024&nbsp;and April 2025. The problem affects only the gasoline models, which feature an analogue fuel gauge in the instrument cluster. In some situations,&nbsp;the gauge may fail to show the correct fuel level, meaning the low fuel warning light might not turn on even when the tank is nearly empty.&nbsp;This could leave drivers unaware of the fuel shortage, increasing the risk of the engine shutting down or stalling while on the road. Notably, Maruti Suzuki recently issued a similar recall for the Grand Vitara, which shares the same technical platform as the Hyryder.</p><p>Toyota will proactively contact owners of the affected<a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/toyota/urban-cruiser-hyryder/"> Urban Cruiser Hyryder</a> units through its dealer and service network to carry out inspections and replace faulty parts at no cost, as part of the voluntary recall. The CNG models come with a manual gearbox only, while the strong-hybrid version&nbsp;combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and battery, and is paired exclusively with a CVT.</p><p>The Urban Cruiser Hyryder comes packed with advanced features, including ventilated front seats, paddle shifters, ambient lighting, smartphone and smartwatch integration, and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Toyota Camry Hybrid continues to prove that sedans – particularly hybrids – still deserve a place in a world obsessed with SUVs. Now in its ninth generation, the new Camry offers a blend of modern design, greater efficiency, and a noticeably more engaging drive, while staying true to the trademark comfort that has long defined it.</p>

<p>The new design language gives it a sportier stance and features Toyota’s ‘hammerhead’ face with sharp LED headlights and a bold front grille. It’s sleek and purposeful, though perhaps a touch too aggressive for a luxury sedan. At 4,885mm, it’s longer than before. The 18-inch wheels add significantly to its overall presence. Inside, the warm tan leather upholstery and a clean horizontal dashboard layout lend it an elegant and calming ambience. <p>Powering the new Camry is a 2.5-litre petrol engine paired with Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system. The lighter, more efficient lithium-ion battery contributes to a combined output of 227bhp and 221Nm.  On the move, the Camry feels smoother and more responsive than before, thanks to a stiffer suspension setup, which enhances stability at high speeds. The eCVT gearbox, however, remains its weak link – it’s seamless and efficient but lacks engagement.</p>

<p>On the short loop of the Buddh International Circuit, the Camry posted a 1:11.6 lap time – just a tenth of a second slower than the BMW X3 xDrive20d, which produces 188bhp and 400Nm from its 2.0-litre diesel. That’s an impressive feat for a comfort-oriented hybrid. <p>The Camry Hybrid may have lost some of its X-factor, but it continues to excel in terms of quality, comfort, and refinement. A true all-rounder, it’s a perfect reminder that luxury and efficiency can still exist in perfect harmony.

Toyota Camry at autoX Awards: Best Cars of 2025 Ranked

The Toyota Camry feels smoother and more responsive on the move, with a stiffer suspension that improves stability at higher speeds.

Toyota proudly calls the LC300 the “King of SUVs” on its website and marketing material—and looking at the Land Cruiser’s legacy across decades and generations, it’s hard to disagree. If not the king, it certainly sits among the top-ranking SUVs in the world in terms of go-anywhere capability. The Land Cruiser has been in continuous production since 1951, making it Toyota’s longest-running product line. Across its nine generations, it has sold over 10 million units globally. The model is particularly popular in regions with harsh environment, such as Australia and Africa – regions where durability and dependability aren’t optional but essential.</p>

<p>In India, however, most owners don’t buy the Land Cruiser for serious off-roading. The occasional long road trip or a Leh-Ladakh expedition is likely the harshest terrain an LC will ever see here. But there are other qualities that make it so compelling. First, reliability – being a Toyota, the LC is known for being indestructible in a world where luxury cars often suffer from electronic issues due to overcomplexity. Even the Thar and Scorpio drivers tend to stay away from an LC on the road.</p>

<p>In the final scores, the LC300 turned out to be a bit of a mixed bag. As expected, it lost points on the lap time, but it scored highly in terms of quality, refinement, and drivetrain performance. Priced between ₹2.16 and ₹2.25 crore, it might seem justifiable for what it offers, but many buyers in that price bracket prefer a more premium badge. So, while the LC300 remains one of my personal favourites from this year’s lineup, a few factors inevitably pulled down its overall score.

<p>Toyota has unveiled the ninth-generation Hilux for the global market, and the biggest news is the introduction of an electric powertrain for the first time. However, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/toyota/">Toyota</a> isn’t relying solely on electrification,&nbsp;realising that one solution doesn’t fit every market or buyer. Alongside the all-electric BEV, the lineup includes a 48V hybrid, traditional internal combustion engines for select regions,&nbsp;and even a hydrogen-powered version slated for 2028, under its multi-pathway strategy. </p><p>In India, the Hilux continues to be offered exclusively with the 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder turbo-diesel&nbsp;engine shared with the Fortuner, producing 201bhp and 420Nm of torque with a manual gearbox,&nbsp; or 550Nm when paired with the automatic.</p><h2><strong>Toyota Hilux: Design and Features</strong></h2><p>

While the sedan has received performance-focused versions throughout its history, Toyota has recently unveiled the new Camry GT-S, a sportier concept based on the new-generation model. Set to debut at the 2025 SEMA Show&nbsp;in Las Vegas, the Camry GT-S stands out with upgraded suspension, aero parts, and an eye-catching paint job. </p><p>However, on the mechanical front, <a href="https://www.autox.com/new-cars/toyota/">Toyota</a> has kept things the same, with the 2.5-litre four-cylinder hybrid powertrain.&nbsp;The Camry GT-S is expected to remain a one-off to engage enthusiasts across the world at the SEMA show. <p><em><strong>Have you ever hoped of being inside a palatial drawing-room on wheels, with all the bells and whistles you could imagine? Well, the Toyota Vellfire is exactly that, and more . . .</strong></em></p>

<p>People love all kinds of cars. Some of us love a fast, loud car, while others love the silence of an electric motor. There are those who enjoy shifting gears manually (as it should be done), and, then, there are those who like automatic shifts. Now, given increasing urban traffic and congestion, I sometimes dream of owning a nice, big car where I could relax in the rear seat, while a chauffeur takes care of driving through harrowing urban traffic. And if you share this dream with me, then there’s good news for you – your prayers have been answered by the kind folks at Toyota.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Vellfire is – for the lack of a simpler term – simply a palace on wheels. It has one clear objective – to keep its occupants in utmost comfort. Now, unlike typical MPVs that we’ve seen in India in the past, the Vellfire’s design is rather striking. Whatever you may call it, it certainly isn’t boring. The huge front end, with its snub-nose design and oodles of chrome on the front, gives the Velfire a very mean presence on the road.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The sides, of course, feature huge doors and a large glasshouse, which makes the interior feel quite airy. Like the front, the rear end, too, features lashings of chrome along with clear-lens taillights. If there was one aspect of the design that I thought was odd, it would have to be the 17-inch alloys, which look a tad garish in their hyper chrome finish. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Another highlight of the Vellfire is its powerplant. Now, Toyota is a global leader when it comes to hybrids, so it’s not surprising to see that the Vellfire will be launched with a hybrid engine and gearbox combo. The engine is a 2.5-litre petrol unit, which is paired to two electric motors, one on each axle. Since Toyota doesn’t provide combined power outputs of the engine and motors, for those keen on knowing, the engine alone produces 115bhp and 198Nm of torque, while the front and rear electric motor supplement it with another 141bhp and 67bhp, respectively.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Most of the time only the engine and the front motor are used in tandem, while the rear motor kicks in only when extra grip is required – Toyota calls the setup E-FOUR (Electronic 4WD). In fact, the Vellfire also has a pure EV mode, but you have to be really gentle on the throttle because even the slightest prodding at the pedal can wake up the petrol engine.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Vellfire features both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto – a first for Toyota in India – which can be controlled via a 10.0-inch touchscreen. It also features LED head and tail lamps with cornering function. For the comfort of occupants, the Vellfire features 3-zone climate control and two sunroofs. The real highlight of the Vellfire, though, is the second row, which not only is immensely spacious but also has reclining seats that are some of the best we’ve ever seen.&nbsp;</p>

<p>With individual seat controls mounted on the armrest of each seat, you can move the seats, put up the powered leg rests, and even heat and cool the seats. And with the seatback fully extended and the leg rests raised up, it’s very close to being a flat-bed seat that you usually find in the business class of a luxury airliner. And since you’re seated so far back in the cabin, you even get a dedicated 13.0-inch roof-mounted screen, which can be controlled via its own remote.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Also, the front and rear doors are quite huge, which means getting into the front or the second row is a breeze. Despite the big size of the door, though, getting into the 3rd row is still a tricky process. Once in, though, there is enough room on offer to easily accommodate three adults. But, since the Vellfire is just short of 5 meters, with all three rows in use, there is virtually no room in the boot, which is probably the only criticism I can offer. The third row is quite flexible, though, and the split seats can be folded and also mounted sideways like they can be done in the Innova.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Now, one thing that we didn’t get much time to explore was the driving aspect of the vehicle. Our driving route was limited, and so was the speed, at the test track in the Toyota factory. So, I can’t tell you much about the driving experience it offers, however, what I can tell you is that the Vellfire is exceedingly comfortable, has very low NVH levels, and, with all the doors and windows closed, the noise insulation from the outside is very impressive.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The only fly in the ointment, then, is going to be the Vellfire’s pricing. Sure, it offers a brilliant experience, but will customers pay over 80 Lakh for a Toyota? That’s probably going to be the biggest challenge, and the question is – whether the Toyota brand is premium enough to command that kind of price. But, then, you can’t expect&nbsp;a drawing-room on wheels to be cheap, can you now? &nbsp; &nbsp;</p>
