BMW has launched the M4 Competition M xDrive in India with a price tag of Rs 1.54 crore (ex-showroom). The most interesting update is that the new model gets more power than before, even if most of the changes come in the form of minor exterior and interior tweaks. The LED headlights and taillights receive major visual updates. Other than the redesigned DRLs, which have an arrow-like shape and function as turn signals, the model appears to be mostly unaltered. Additionally, the car is lighter overall thanks to the stylish Carbon Fibre Roof. In terms of price, the Porsche Cayman and 911 base versions are the closest competitors to the new BMW model. Interested customers can place bookings for the model via a BMW dealership or a BMW Online Shop. Notably, the M4 Competiton XDrive will arrive in India via the CBU route.

BMW M4 Competition M xDrive: Mechanical Details

The new M4 Competition M xDrive draws power from a TwinPower Turbo S58 six-cylinder in-line petrol unit. This mill churns out 530bhp of maximum power, an increase of 20bhp over the previous-generation model. The torque figure stands at 650Nm. On the transmission front, the power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed M Steptronic gearbox. Similar to the outgoing model, the all-new car can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds. The peak speed is limited to 250km/h as usual, but the optional M Driver's Package lifts it to 290km/h. Moreover, three different setups are available in both automatic and manual modes: comfort-oriented, sports-focused, and track-optimised.

You can instantly access the settings for the engine, chassis, brakes, steering, and traction control by pressing the Setup button located on the centre console. While the electronically controlled damper settings are accessible in the Comfort, Sport, or Sport Plus chassis mode, the engine's characteristics can be altered using the Efficient, Sport, or Sport Plus settings.

BMW M4 Competition M xDrive: Interior and Features

As you move inside the cabin of this M4, it features a flat-bottom leather steering wheel with a red stripe. An Alcantara microsuede steering wheel is also on offer. The model preserves its dual-screen infotainment and instrumentation displays, which measure 14.9 and 12.3 inches, respectively. Furthermore, the system now functions on BMW Operating System 8.5, rather than 8.0.

Other features in the list comprise a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, enhanced ambient lighting, an updated instrument panel, wireless charging, new toggles for the HVAC vents on the dashboard, Driving Assistant Professional, smartphone connectivity, Steering and Lane Control Assistant, BMW Drive Recorder, a head-up display, and Parking Assistant Plus with 360-degree camera.
