In the domestic automotive market, the subcompact SUV sector is currently the most competitive one. Therefore, to remain relevant and pique customers' attention, car manufacturers must continuously upgrade their respective models from time to time to put the best out there for the buyers. In keeping with this, Kia India recently unveiled the updated Sonet. This is the first facelift the sub-4-metre SUV has had since its release in 2020, and it comes with a broader equipment list in addition to a few cosmetic changes. The same range of engine choices and trim levels as the previous generation have also been maintained by the South Korean automaker. It is important to note that the price of the model will be officially revealed early next year. However, the pre-bookings for the facelifted Sonet are scheduled to start this week onwards. Interested customers can make reservations either through the nearest Kia dealership or via the brand's official website. In terms of rivalry, the 2024 Sonet is set to go up against the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Renault Kiger, Hyundai Venue, Nissan Magnite, and Mahindra XUV300. Here's a comprehensive comparison of the new Sonet with one of its most popular rivals, the 2023 Nexon.

The Sonet is feature-rich and packed with cutting-edge technology, embodying all that the automaker speaks for. None of its competitors yet have ADAS technology, which sets the Sonet apart as the first SUV in its class to come with the safety tech. The Sonet will benefit from this over competitors like the Tata Nexon. Lane keep assist, lane follow assist, and lane departure warning are among the ten capabilities available with the ADAS technology. The Sonet has a total of 25 safety features, six of which are standard and are almost identical to those found in Nexon.

Further, the facelifted Sonet distinguishes itself from most of its closest rivals, including the Nexon, when it comes to conveniences. The upgraded cabin now has two 10.25-inch digital screens that may be used as a driver's display or infotainment unit. The Sonet has twenty-five segment-first features in total, according to Kia. These additionally consist of features like an air purifier, an electric sunroof, a power-adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, and a Bose sound system.

2024 Kia Sonet Facelift vs 2023 Tata Nexon Spec Comparison: Dimensions

The new Sonet's dimensions are slightly larger than those of the previous version. The SUV's current specs are 3,995mm in length and 1,790mm in width, which are comparable to those of the Sonet. On the other hand, the SUV's height has grown by 32mm. It was 1,610mm earlier, but it is now 1,642mm. The facelift's 2,500mm wheelbase also stays the same. A total of seven trim levels of the new model will be available from Kia. In contrast to Tata Motors, Kia has left the variant names unchanged. Two dual-tone exterior themes and the newly introduced Pewter Olive are among the eleven available colour schemes. Additionally, only the X-Line trim will be available in the Matte Graphite colour from the firm.

The new Nexon and Sonet are comparable in size, except for a 14mm difference in width. The former's height is a little less than the new Sonet's, though. There are eleven variants of the Nexon available from Tata Motors. In terms of exterior paint jobs, the Nexon can be had in six colour options.
