2025 Kia Seltos Unveiled in the US with Mild Updates; Gets New Features, Upholstery and More

Kia America has just released pricing for the Seltos 2025 in the US market, and the mid-size SUV will be available in American showrooms soon. Prices have gone up by USD 100 (about Rs 8,345), but the automaker has added a few new features to all models, including both tech and cosmetic adjustments. For 2025, the variant lineup has also changed. The EX and top-tier SX trims of the new Kia Seltos receive the majority of the modifications, which include a Smart Power Liftgate and Parking Distance Warning in Reverse. Nevertheless, the features are limited to the EX's All-Wheel Drive (AWD) models. While no indication has been made as to whether the update would be available in India, there are changes to the US model that may make it here.

2025 Kia Seltos: What's New?

Following the most recent makeover, the Kia Seltos will get only minimal modifications, with the EX trim receiving most of the improvements. The all-wheel drive EX and the top-of-the-line SX model will get a Smart Power Liftgate and Parking Distance Warning-Reverse. The EX will also come with an optional sunroof package. Moreover, a cargo cover is included as standard equipment with the EX AWD.

The S range gets a 4.25-inch integrated display instead of the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. A previously unavailable auto-up-down feature is now accessible thanks to a new power window installed on the driver's side. Additionally, the S Line comes equipped with brand-new, standard 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels. Coming to the cabin, the brand has confirmed that the 2025 Seltos will have "improved materials and finishes that elevate the driving experience," but it hasn't provided any further information. Kia claims that the overall finishing has also improved.

2025 Kia Seltos: Powertrain Options

The Kia Seltos is available worldwide with two distinct petrol engine options. The India-spec Seltos gets smaller engines and an extra diesel option. The US-spec Seltos is equipped with a 2.0-litre petrol engine, producing 146bhp, and an intelligent variable gearbox (IVT). There is also a more popular 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 195bhp and an eight-speed automatic gearbox. 

In the Indian market, the Seltos reduces capacity to a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, generating 158bhp and 253Nm of torque. There is also a naturally aspirated engine that produces 115bhp and 144Nm of torque.

Models intended for other countries typically miss out on several essential features when travelling to India. Interestingly, the Kia Seltos is not available in India with an all-wheel drive version, a feature that the US-spec model has. The latter can direct 50% of its power to the rear axle thanks to its active AWD technology. Torque vectoring is also enabled by the technology to flexibly distribute power between the back wheels for improved cornering performance. Meanwhile, the India-spec Seltos has several features above the US-spec, like air purifiers and a 360-degree camera.
