Toyota Motor India has launched the 2025 Fortuner Leader Edition, adding a new variant to its SUV range with design and feature updates. The mechanical setup remains unchanged, including the proven engine and drivetrain. The new edition features a redesigned front grille, bumper spoilers, and a bonnet emblem spelling out ‘FORTUNER’. Toyota aims to provide a version with a different appearance that retains the Fortuner’s established reliability and performance. Bookings for the Leader Edition open in the second week of October through Toyota dealerships and the official website, with pricing expected to be slightly above the standard rear-wheel-drive model.

This update is intended to keep the Fortuner competitive in India’s premium SUV segment, where demand for models with distinctive styling and extra features continues to rise.
The exterior of the Leader Edition stands truly stand out. Gloss-black alloy wheels and a rear bumper with chrome highlights complete the look. Four colour options are offered: Attitude Black, Super White, Pearl White, and Silver. These changes help distinguish the Leader Edition from the standard model on the road and in showrooms.
The cabin gains a dual-tone black and maroon theme, offering a refreshed look while maintaining the familiar layout. Added features include illuminated scuff plates, auto-folding mirrors, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) to assist with safety. These updates focus on practical upgrades for comfort and convenience without altering the core Fortuner experience.
Standard Fortuner features carry over, including an 8-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, cruise control, and wireless charging. Safety remains a priority, with seven airbags, Electronic Stability Control, traction control, hill hold assist, and rear parking sensors.
The Fortuner Leader Edition continues with the 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel engine producing 201bhp and 500Nm of torque when paired with the automatic transmission. The manual variant offers slightly different torque figures. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a choice of a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox.
