At the sidelines of the Gravite launch in India, Nissan officially announced that the Tekton SUV will arrive by mid-2026. The exact launch date is expected to be announced closer to the timeline. The Tekton will be the second of three new models Nissan plans to introduce in India as part of its product expansion and brand revival strategy. While teasers have revealed glimpses of the SUV’s exterior, most details regarding its engine, interior, and features remain under wraps. Here’s what buyers can expect from this highly anticipated Nissan SUV.

The upcoming SUV from Nissan flaunts boxy proportions and an upright stance. A chrome-accented trapezoidal grille dominates the nose, flanked by signature C-shaped LED lighting and slim daytime running lamps. The rear design boasts matching C-shaped LED tail-lamps linked by a full-width light bar, chunky bumper cladding with protective body elements. Nissan describes the Tekton as a multi-purpose SUV engineered to deliver everyday comfort while maintaining a confident, tough stance on any road.
While Nissan has yet to officially reveal the cabin of the Tekton, previous spy shots and industry reports suggest that it will be modern and well-equipped. A unique dashboard design, subtle colour themes, and trim elements are expected. Moreover, the SUV is likely to have a flat-bottom steering wheel with integrated controls and a fully digital instrument cluster.

The Nissan Tekton is also likely to come equipped with a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a large touchscreen infotainment system, and a 360-degree surround-view camera. Additionally, Nissan is expected to offer an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) suite with the SUV.
While official engine details for the Nissan Tekton are still under wraps, speculations are rife that the SUV could adopt Duster’s powertrains. This may include a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol (161bhp/280Nm), a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol (99bhp/160Nm), and a hybrid variant featuring a 108bhp petrol engine with a 48bhp electric motor, supported by a 1.4kWh battery, offering both manual and DCT transmission options.
