Audi is No. 1 Luxury Car Maker in India

There is a new best seller amongst the top luxury car companies in India, but once again it is a German manufacturer. Mercedes-Benz might have been the top luxury car maker in terms of sales over a longer period of time in India, but BMW in more recent years had kept the competition tight and held the title. But for the year 2013, the number one luxury car seller in the country was Audi.

Audi has made history by becoming the first-ever luxury car manufacturer in India to sell more than 10000 units in a single year - they sold a total of 10002 units. The brand with the four rings crossed this historic milestone in the period January – December 2013, which is a growth of 11 percent compared to last year when they sold 9003 units. December 2013 was also the best month for audi in terms of sales as they sold more than 1340 units - the highest ever bookings in a month in India.

Since they first set up shop in India, Audi has had a tremendous increase in sales over the years and has outperformed Mercedes and BMW in terms of growth rate.
