Tata Altroz Racer

Bharat Mobility Expo: The Tata Altroz Racer concept debuted in 2023 at the Auto Expo, sporting a black and red color scheme. A slightly modified Altroz, which was recently seen being tested in heavy camouflage, is what Tata Motors is presently working on. The Indian manufacturer plans to add the performance-oriented Altroz Racer to its lineup of luxury hatchbacks soon. The concept vehicle is currently on display at the first edition of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 in New Delhi. The latest version of the car has been finished with a fresh colour scheme. The model goes up against the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, the Hyundai i20, and the Toyota Glanza in the domestic market. Moreover, it has a five-star Global NCAP safety rating and is the first model powered by the ALFA (Agile Light Flexible Advanced) platform. Here are some other relevant details about the hatchback.

Tata Altroz Racer: Design and Dimension Details

To set it apart from the standard model, the Tata Altroz Racer receives multiple external and internal upgrades. It is essentially a performance-focused variant of the brand's premium hatchback and has a racecar-inspired design. The model sports a vibrant orange paint scheme and white stripes on the hood and roof, with the black base paint lending a dual-tone appearance. The Tata Altroz Racer rolls on 16-inch all-black diamond-cut alloy wheels that were designed recently. Additionally, the car also carries Racer badging that further distinguishes it from the regular Altroz.

No dimensional alterations have been made to the Racer version and they remain the same as the regular model. Therefore, its overall measurements stand at 3,990mm in length, 1,755mm in width, and 1,523mm in height. Meanwhile, the wheelbase of the car measures 2,501mm. Furthermore, the cost of the Altroz Racer is expected to be more than that of the current top-spec petrol trim.

Tata Altroz Racer: Mechanical Specifications

Notably, the Altroz Racer will be the most potent hatchback in the manufacturer's portfolio. Speaking of the engine and transmission details, the car will be driven by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged petrol mill from the Nexon. This unit is good enough to belt out 170 Nm of peak torque at 1,750rpm to 4,000rpm and 118bhp of maximum power at 5,500rpm. The only available manual transmission option will be a six-speed unit.

Tata Altroz Racer: Interior Layout

With an all-black leatherette upholstery and red stitching, Tata Motors has updated the interior of the model as well. Apart from this, three red and white racing stripes along with special Racer badging on the headrests can also be seen as you move inside the cabin. The gearbox and dashboard receive additional red inserts.
