BMW has introduced the M2 CS in India as the most hardcore iteration of the two-door coupe. The model has a limited production run, and the exact units allocated for India are yet to be disclosed. It is the second CS-badged model from BMW to be introduced here, after the M4 CS. The BMW M2 CS continues to use the 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six engine, but it is tuned to produce 523bhp and 650Nm, which is about 49bhp and 50Nm more than the standard BMW M2. With multiple weight-saving elements and chassis upgrades, the new M2 CS promises fast acceleration and more powerful performance. Read on to know more.
BMW has made extensive use of Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) in the M2 CS for elements such as the roof and rear diffuser, among others, which has resulted in reducing overall mass by around 30kg. The track-focused coupe rides 8mm lower than its standard counterpart and is equipped with a recalibrated adaptive M suspension setup, stiffer engine mounts, and steering tuned for track use. Moreover, it comes fitted with forged M light-alloy wheels measuring 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear, and finished in an exclusive Matte Gold Bronze.
The 3.0-litre S58 twin-turbo inline-six in the CS variant churns out 523bhp and 650Nm. Power is routed solely to the rear wheels through an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission. This setup enables the track-focused M2 CS to go from 0 to 100km/h in 3.8 seconds, and attain a top speed of 302km/h.

The CS version builds on the standard M2’s muscular stance and boasts aggressive aerodynamic elements and a generous use of carbon fibre. BMW has tweaked the frameless kidney grille slightly, and it now comes with larger air intakes. There’s also a matte-black front splitter. Other key highlights include the lightweight CFRP boot lid with an integrated ducktail spoiler, four colour options (Brooklyn Grey, Velvet Blue, Black Sapphire, and Portimao Blue).

Inside, the M2 CS has lightweight M Carbon bucket seats in Merino leather, with heating, electric adjustments, and track-ready removable head restraints. It also includes a flat-bottomed M Alcantara steering wheel with gearshift paddles and M buttons, carbon-fibre trim, and illuminated “CS” logos on the centre console and door panels, customisable ambient lighting, M seatbelts, and black entry sill plates with red ‘M2 CS’ accents.
While the standard M2 starts at Rs 1.02 crore (ex-showroom), the CS is expected to carry a price tag ranging somewhere between Rs 1.5–1.71 crore, marking a hefty price difference.
