BMW M3 and M4 Competition Pack unleashed

BMW has announced more powerful Competition Packs of the M3 sedan and M4 coupe and convertible.

When you tell a petrol head about power of 431bhp, all of them will admit its quite a lot of power, but none of them will ever disagree when you tell them, you can't have too much power. Therefore BMW's mental M division has announced that they have added some more power to their M3 and M4 line up.

The M engineers at BMW have fiddled with the 3-litre, twin turbo V6 engines to produce 444bhp instead of the puny little 431bhp from the standard version. The call it the 'Competition Pack" which you can select when you buy the car in the 4 door sedan M3 version of the M4 coupe or convertible versions.available with a choice of a 7-speed Dual clutch gearbox tricked out the the M engineers which makes this version go from 0-100km/p in 3.8 seconds, as opposed to the 3.9 seconds of the standard 1. even the convertible that does its regular 0-100km/l in 4.2 secs, added with the competition pack it does the same distance from standstill a tenth quicker. It's the same story with the standard 6-speed Manual gearbox, as all cars now accelerate a tenth quicker than the standard ones.

In addition to that, BMW has also fiddled with the Adaptive  suspension tuned specifically for the car with new springs, damper and anti roll bars, reconfigured driving modes, (Comfort, Sport and Sport+) the rear differential has also been upgraded to meet the power demands of the engine in addition to the traction control all of that sends the 444bp to the 285/30 R20 sized rear wheels. The front 265/30 R20 along with the rear wheels get new bespoke 20 star shaped spoke rims.

The M engineers have also helped the car lose some weight by adding M sports seats for additional support and comfort. The exhaust at the back also have been upgraded to be louder and the tailpipes have been dipped in black chrome.

The Competition Pack for the M3 and M4 also includes Individual high-gloss shadow Line black high gloss exterior trim like the Kidney grille, side gills, model badge, exterior mirror frames and bases and window recess finishers.

The Competition Package will be offered for a retail price of $5,500 (Rs. 3.72 lakh approx) on the M3 Sedan and Coupe and the $5,000 (Rs. 3.38 lakh approx) on the M4 Convertible.
