BYD eMax 7 Premium, Superior Variants Explained: What's Different?

It's been over a week since Chinese EV brand BYD launched the eMax 7 electric MPV in India. The BYD eMax 7 is the facelifted version of the erstwhile e6 and gets a host of visual updates and a new battery, among other things. Ranging from Rs 26.90 lakh to Rs 29.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the eMax 7 is available in two variants: Premium and Superior. The former e6 was offered in a single fully loaded variant. 

The BYD eMax 7 gets two battery options: 55.4kWh and 71.8kWh with 420km and 530km ranges, respectively. The former can be had with the Premium variant, while the latter is available with the top-spec Superior variant. With the updated front-wheel-drive motor, the Premium develops 161bhp, reaching 100km/h in 10.1 seconds, while the Superior makes 201bhp, accelerating from a halt to 100km/h in 8.6 seconds. With the addition of a third row, the new eMax 7 is available in 6- and 7-seat configurations. Here's a look at the variant-wise features of the eMax 7.

The BYD eMAX 7 has no direct rivals, but it is an alternative to the Toyota Innova Hycross. It comes in the following colour options: Quartz Blue, Harbour Grey, Crystal White, and Cosmos Black.
