The BYD e6 was priced between Rs 29.15 lakh and Rs 29.60 lakh in India. In contrast, the new eMAX 7 is available in two variants: Premium and Superior. Pricing for the eMAX 7 Premium ranges from Rs 26.90 lakh to Rs 27.50 lakh for the six- and seven-seater configurations, respectively. On the other hand, the eMAX 7 Superior is priced at Rs 29.30 lakh for the six-seater and Rs 29.90 lakh for the seven-seater model. All mentioned prices are ex-showroom figures.

The BYD e6 featured a single 71.7kWh battery, which offered a range of 520 km on a single charge. However, the EV only produced 94bhp and 180Nm of peak torque from its electric motor. In comparison, the eMAX 7 MPV has two battery options: a 71.8kWh pack and a smaller 55.5kWh unit. Power output has seen a notable increase, with the larger battery variant generating 201bhp, while the smaller one delivers 161bhp. Both configurations maintain a peak torque of 310Nm.

The new eMAX 7 boasts a considerably sleeker exterior compared to the e6. While the overall shape is similar, there are distinct enhancements at the front and rear. This electric MPV features redesigned headlights with modern LED elements, a more pronounced grille, and the updated BYD logo, positioned at the centre. The front bumper has been refreshed for a sharper, more contemporary look. Although the side profile remains unchanged from the e6, the eMAX 7 is fitted with new 18-inch alloy wheels. The rear has also been extensively redesigned, showcasing a more robust bumper and stylish, connected taillights.

While the dashboard of the new eMAX 7 closely resembles that of the e6, there are some noteworthy updates. For example, the steering wheel has been redesigned to feature a dark trim with a piano black finish, replacing the earlier silver accents. The centre console has also been revamped to provide dedicated space for wirelessly charging mobile devices. A significant addition is the availability of third-row seating, allowing for configurations that accommodate either six or seven passengers.

Furthermore, the eMAX 7 boasts an expanded list of features compared to the e6. It includes a larger 12.8-inch rotating central touchscreen infotainment system. Other fresh additions encompass a panoramic glass roof, powered and ventilated front seats, Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, a 360-degree camera system, and support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with front and rear disc brakes.
