BYD Seal Exterior

The popular Chinese manufacturer, BYD is prepared to fan the flames even higher in the flourishing Indian electric vehicle (EV) sector with the launch of its appealing electric sedan, the Seal. The EV, which is scheduled to arrive on the Indian market tomorrow, is billed as an exciting fusion of elegance and performance. After the all-electric e6 and the Atto 3, BYD will introduce the Seal as the company's third product in the nation. The e6 starts at Rs 29.15 lakh, whereas the Atto carries a price tag of Rs 33.99 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom.

With a refundable token amount of Rs 1 lakh, reservations for the Seal are currently underway. Notably, customers who place bookings before April 30 will be eligible to win 2024 UEFA match tickets and round-trip flight tickets from India to the match city through a BYD-organised promotion. The winners will be announced in May this year. Furthermore, the deliveries are slated to start as soon as prices are revealed. The car will reach India via the completely built-up (CBU) route. Read on to learn more about the soon-to-be-launched model.

BYD Seal: Design and Dimensions

With its contemporary style, the Seal EV has distinctive characteristics and a sloping roofline that adheres to BYD's "ocean aesthetics" philosophy. Through the use of CTB (cell-to-body) technology and the e-platform 3.0, the battery pack is integrated into the chassis. Full-width LED taillights that span the length of the boot lid, flush door handles, alloy wheels with diamond cuts, and crystal LED headlights with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs make up the rest of the design elements.

Moving on to the dimensions, the car has a wheelbase of 2,920mm and measures 4,800mm in length, 1,875mm in width, and 1,460mm in height. Moreover, it has a 400-litre boot and a 50-litre front trunk. Buyers can choose from four exterior colour schemes: Cosmos Black, Aurora White, Atlantis Grey, and Arctic Blue.

BYD Seal: Technical Setup

There are two battery pack configurations available for the Seal EV: 61.4kWh and 82.5kWh. The former can be used with single- or dual-motor configurations, whereas the latter can only be purchased as an all-wheel-drive model. With its larger battery pack and dual motor system delivering 523bhp, the top-spec model can achieve a range of up to 700-kilometre on a full charge. It can accelerate from a standstill to 100km/h in 3.8 seconds. The India-spec vehicle, meanwhile, probably will only come with one powerplant choice. The carmaker also offers a rapid charging capacity of up to 150 kW for the larger pack, while the smaller pack is compatible with fast chargers of up to 110 kW.

BYD Seal: Interior Features

The cabin of the Seal includes a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver, a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen infotainment panel, a 360-degree camera, heated and ventilated front seats, wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, ambient lighting, and a heads-up display. Additional features comprise a driving selector, two wireless charging pads, automated climate control, ADAS, and simple settings for the heated windshield.
