General Motors has pulled the covers off the California Corvette Concept, the second of three design studies it plans to show in 2025. Created by GM’s Advanced Design Studio in Pasadena, this concept car is heavily inspired by Southern California’s energy and creativity. It's GM’s bold look at what the iconic Corvette could become in an electric future.
The California Corvette Concept comes with an aggressive, track-ready design. Built around a carbon-fibre monocoque chassis, it has a low, wide stance that screams performance. One of the most striking elements is its fighter jet-style canopy, which opens forward instead of using regular doors. Add in a sculpted body, air tunnels underneath, and features like a retractable spoiler and air brake, and it’s clear GM wanted this to look fast, even if it’s not headed for production.

It sits incredibly low—just 41.4 inches tall—and is 86 inches wide, with massive 21-inch front and 22-inch rear wheels filling out the arches. The result is a planted, purposeful look that blends racing heritage with futuristic style. The aerodynamics aren’t just for show; they hint at how serious this electric Corvette concept could be if it ever hit the road.

Inside, GM imagines a clean, tech-first space focused on the driver. There’s an augmented reality heads-up display and performance-focused digital controls. Thanks to a new T-shaped battery layout, the seating position is lower, and the weight is better balanced. It’s not just about how it looks—it’s also about how it could feel to drive.

While there’s no official word on power or performance, this concept shows where Corvette might be headed in the EV world. The prismatic T-shaped battery is a fresh take on electric car packaging and helps keep the car sleek and stable. It may be just a concept, but it’s an exciting glimpse into what an electric Corvette of the future might look like.
