After introducing the C3X, and the Basalt X, Citroen is now preparing to give the X treatment to the Aircross SUV. The upcoming model, in line with its 'X' siblings, will remain mechanically unchanged, but add a few notable features, primarily inside the cabin. While Citroen has not yet confirmed the launch date for the Aircross X, the SUV's bookings are now open with a token amount of Rs 11,000. Given that the X-badged variant will offer more features than the standard model, its pricing is expected to be slightly higher. For reference, the standard Citroen Aircross starts at Rs 8.62 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.

The Citroen Aircross X is expected to remain the same from the outside, except for an exclusive badge. However, significant changes are anticipated inside the cabin. These include an updated dashboard (borrowing cues from the Basalt X), a new dual-tone finish, updated upholstery colours, revised air-con vents, and repositioned climate controls. A freestanding infotainment touchscreen and digital driver display are also expected.

In terms of features, the higher variants may include push-button start/stop, LED fog lamps, cruise control, ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, a 360-degree camera, keyless entry, and Citroen's new CARA voice assistant.
The Citroen Aircross X is likely to continue with the existing pair of 1.2-litre petrol engines. The entry-level NA (naturally aspirated) unit produces 81bhp, and comes mated exclusively to a 5-speed manual transmission. Meanwhile, the turbocharged unit is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. It delivers a power output of 108bhp.
