Citroen India will launch the Basalt X on 5 September as part of its plan to grow its presence in the Indian market. Bookings are already open, and buyers can secure the new coupe-SUV by paying a token amount of Rs 11,000. The Basalt X builds on the standard Basalt, much like the C3X did with the C3 hatchback. While the overall design and colour choices remain the same, a ‘Basalt X’ badge will be added to mark this variant. It will sit above the regular model in the line-up, offering a more feature-packed package.

The cabin of the Basalt X will come with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It will also feature a 7-inch digital instrument display, automatic climate control, and wireless phone charging, giving drivers and passengers a more convenient experience.
In terms of safety, the Basalt X will offer six airbags, ABS with electronic brakeforce distribution, electronic stability control, and hill hold assist as standard. Practical additions such as a tyre pressure monitoring system, cruise control, and an engine start/stop button will further enhance its usability and safety on the road.
Power will come from the familiar 1.2-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, the same as in the standard Basalt. This engine produces 108bhp and up to 205Nm of torque, depending on the transmission option. This keeps the performance consistent while pairing it with a better-equipped feature list.
