Citroen eC3 vs Tata Tiago EV Comparison: Price, Performance, Range and More

Citroen recently debuted the eC3, an electric version of their C3 hatchback, in India. The Tata Tiago EV's competition, the eC3, is an entry-level electric hatchback. Despite the fact that it might not initially appear so, they do indeed compete directly. They don't appear to be direct competitors because Citroen has announced the eC3 with a starting price of Rs 11.50 lakh and the Tiago EV with a starting price of Rs 8.69 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. But if you look closely, you will see that the long-range Tiago EV with 7.2kW charger starts at Rs 11.49 and is directly competitive with the eC3. Citroen eC3 vs Tata Tiago EV Comparison: Powertrain

The Tata Tiago EV extended range produces 75bhp of maximum power while churning out 114Nm of torque, compared to the Citroen eC3's 57bhp and 143Nm of torque. According to claims, the Tiago EV can accelerate from 0 to 60km/h in just 5.7 seconds while the eC3 promises to do it in 6.8 seconds. Given its advantages in terms of weight, speed, and power output, the Tiago EV is unquestionably the superior vehicle.

The Tata Tiago EV long range variant has a claimed range of 315 kilometre, whereas the Citroen eC3 has a stated range of 320 kilometre. The eC3 and the Tiago EV both require 57 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 per cent when using a DC fast charger, however, if using a 15A wall charger, the eC3 requires 10 hours and 30 minutes while the Tiago EV only needs 8 hours and 40 minutes. The Tiago EV does have a tiny edge if charged using a 15A wall charger, but both of these vehicles are quite equally matched in terms of range and charging durations, making this a difficult decision.

The Citroen eC3 has dimensions of 3,981mm in length, 1,733mm in width, 1,604mm in height, and a 2,540 mm wheelbase. In contrast, the Tata Tiago EV has dimensions of 3,769mm in length, 1,677mm in width, 1,536mm in height, and a 2,400mm wheelbase. So the eC3 has won by a landslide. The Citroen eC3 is 140mm longer in wheelbase than the Tata Tiago EV, 212mm longer, 56mm wider, and 68mm higher, giving you significantly more for a comparable price.

Price-wise, the Tata Tiago EV extended range falls between Rs 11.40 to Rs 11.99 lakh, while the Citroen eC3 ranges from Rs 11.50 to Rs 12.13 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.
