The updated Honda City rival is expected to be launched within the next three months.

It is an open secret that Maruti Suzuki has been working on updating its best-selling Ciaz saloon. Now, we have for you the exclusive spy photos of the facelifted Ciaz.

The Ciaz facelift, which has been spied at a Maruti stockyard with no camouflage whatsoever, is seen in two colours - white and blue. The car wears a brand new face with slimmer headlamps and grille. Then, there is an updated front bumper with a much more aggressive design and chrome surrounds for fog lamps.

At the rear, no major change can be seen in these photos. The basic shape of the tail light remains familiar, however, they may feature new internal design elements, with LED lighting. Talking of LED lights, we expect them to be present up front as well, along with DRLs, which the Ciaz has been missing for quite some time now.

2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Spied

While we have no spy images of the Ciaz facelift’s interior, we expect no major change there in terms of design. Minor updates to the interiors may include new colours, more features, an updated infotainment system and a slightly better cabin quality.

Coming to engines, our sources suggest that the Ciaz facelift will continue with the current model’s Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel engine with mild-hybrid technology. The rumoured new 1.5-litre diesel engine is said to be not ready as yet. The bigger news will come in the petrol department, where a new 1.5-litre engine is expected to replace the current underpowered 1.4-litre unit.

The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift is said to go on sale before the 2018 festive season. This means that the updated model will arrive roughly four years after the Ciaz was launched in India. The car continues to be one of the top selling mid-size saloons in the country, and this facelift will only enhance its appeal further.
