Gordon Murray Automotive has taken the wraps off the new S1 LM at the 2025 Monterey Car Week, a track-focused machine that revives the spirit of the legendary McLaren F1 LM from 1995. Nearly three decades on from McLaren’s landmark Le Mans victory, Murray and his team have created a modern-day tribute infused with lightweight engineering, advanced aerodynamics and driver-focused interior like the McLaren F1. The S1 LM isn’t just a nostalgic gesture, it's conceived as a car that connects raw motorsport DNA with modern precision engineering.

Production will be strictly limited, underlining the S1 LM’s exclusivity and significance in GMA’s line-up.
Built on the foundations of the GMA S1 road car, the S1 LM introduces a more aggressive, endurance-inspired character. Its exterior draws heavily from the McLaren F1 LM, with a central driving position, fixed rear wing and deep diffuser, each detail sculpted to enhance aerodynamics and grip. This shared design language ties the S1 LM directly back to its historic predecessor while reinforcing a sense of focused racing intent.

Inside, the cockpit maintains a stripped-back, functional feel. The central seat layout, crafted from lightweight materials, eliminates unnecessary distractions, leaving only the essentials within reach.

This minimalist design echoes the racing ethos of the McLaren F1 LM, ensuring the driver remains directly engaged with the machine rather than insulated from it.
Under the skin lies a high-revving, 4.3-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine paired with a lightweight manual gearbox. The engine can rev up to 12,100 rpm.

Murray has emphasised simplicity and connection over digital assistance, prioritising low weight and immediate driver feedback. The setup promises precision handling, whether on a demanding circuit or a winding road, mirroring the F1 LM’s philosophy of putting the driver at the absolute centre of the experience.
