The cuts are a direct effect of GST 2.0, which alters taxation on vehicles over four metres with engines up to 1,500cc. The previous rate included 28 per cent GST plus a 17 per cent cess, totalling 45 per cent. Under the revised structure, cars in this category now attract a flat 40 per cent GST with no additional cess. Industry observers suggest that Honda’s prompt response will support its festive season sales and make its line-up more accessible to a larger group of prospective buyers.
