Honda will showcase the production version of its fuel cell powered car at the Tokyo Motor Show next month.
Tentatively named as the FCV, it is the world’s first production model of a fuel cell powered saloon to house the entire powertrain in the space normally occupied by the engine and the transmission. This enables the cabin to accommodate five persons comfortably.
Honda preferred not to shed any light on the technical details of the FCV. However, they did tell that it has a range of 700 km.
Speaking of its appearance, the FCV sports honeycomb styles grille, boomerang shaped LED lights, and an all black roof.
In its Japanese specification, the FCV can also serve as a mobile charging point: it can generate and provide electricity to commuters in case of an emergency.
