Hyundai Alcazar Front Side and Side View

Hyundai will launch the updated Alcazar in India on September 9 after a long wait. Based on previous spy images, the three-row SUV will resemble the redesigned Hyundai Creta, with a few distinctive features that will add to its uniqueness, such as a new grille and front bumper. It will also have updated side cladding, newly designed alloy wheels, and vertically stacked connected LED taillamps. While exact details are yet to be revealed, the new Alcazar will likely remain mechanically untouched. It is also expected to renew its rivalry with the Tata Safari and the MG Hector Plus. Hyundai Alcazar: Interior and Features

While the Alcazar will retain the 6- and 7-seat arrangements, it is expected to contain more technology and features similar to the upgraded Creta, such as two 10.25-inch screens (one for the infotainment system and one for the digital instrument cluster). It may also feature an 8-speaker Bose sound system, front and rear parking sensors, wireless phone charging, dual-zone climate control, six airbags, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, electronic stability control, and ADAS.

Hyundai Alcazar: Engine

Although the specifications of the powertrain are unknown, the new Alcazar is expected to have the same engine options as the current version, which includes 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel. The former produces 157.8bhp and 253Nm, mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. The latter, on the other hand, generates 114.4bhp and 250Nm, coupled to a 6MT or a 6AT gearbox.

Hyundai Alcazar: Expected Price

Given that it is a facelift, Hyundai is expected to charge a significant premium (between Rs 70,000 and Rs 80,000) over the current Alcazar, which is priced between Rs 16.77 lakh and Rs 21.28 lakh (ex-showroom price in Delhi). It is also likely to start shipping the new Alcazar to its owners by mid or late September.
