Hyundai has introduced an automatic transmission for the lower-spec S variant of the Aura sedan. Priced at Rs 8.08 lakh, the AMT-equipped S model costs Rs 70,000 more than its manual counterpart, which is priced at Rs 7.38 lakh. However, compared to the top-spec SX+ trim (Rs 8.95 lakh), which was previously the only variant offered with an AMT, the new S AMT variant is Rs 87,000 more affordable, making the automatic option more accessible to buyers. All prices are ex-showroom.
The S AMT variant carries over much of the equipment from its manual counterpart, including features like remote central locking, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, tyre pressure monitoring system, six airbags, ABS, LED daytime running lights, footwell lighting, and rear power windows. However, the AMT version adds a few extra features, such as integrated turn indicators on the mirrors, power-folding wing mirrors, and electronic stability control (ESC).
The Hyundai Aura has a 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces maximum power of 82bhp and a peak torque of 114Nm. The same mill, while running on CNG, delivers 68bhp and 95Nm. Transmission choices include a five-speed manual and AMT.

Earlier this year, Hyundai launched a new Corporate variant for the Aura sedan in India, priced at Rs 7.48 lakh (ex-showroom). The Corporate variant is positioned between the S and SX trims. It features 15-inch dual-tone steel wheels, a sporty rear wing spoiler, special Corporate badging, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
