Hyundai has unveiled the Concept Three at the 2025 Munich Motor Show, previewing a compact electric hatchback that will enter production next year as the Ioniq 3. The model marks Hyundai’s entry into the European small EV segment under the Ioniq sub-brand. Measuring 4,287mm in length, it is shaped by the company’s “Art of Steel” design language, which combines sharp lines with a city-friendly footprint. The concept highlights new styling, sustainable materials, and customisable technology aimed at enhancing the user experience.

Once in production, the Ioniq 3 will bring these elements to market as part of Hyundai’s broader shift towards electric mobility.
On the outside, the Concept Three is comparable in size to the Volkswagen Golf but stands out with a coupe-like shape featuring an Aero Hatch profile and a sculpted rear. The car also features Hyundai’s latest Parametric Pixel lighting technology, which includes gradient effects at both the front and rear. Despite the sleek roofline, the design keeps the roof height ample enough to ensure good headroom inside, combining style with practicality.

The interior is built around sustainability and personalisation. Hyundai uses recycled textiles, fabrics made from ocean waste, and lightweight aluminium foam throughout the cabin. A notable feature inside is the “Bring Your Own Lifestyle” system, which allows drivers to customise their digital display with modular widgets. To make the experience more interactive, Hyundai has introduced a digital companion called Mr Pix.
Though exact details are still to be confirmed, the Ioniq 3 is expected to use battery technology similar to that in the Kia EV3. It will likely come with two battery sizes: 58.3kWh and 81.4kWh, operating on a 400-volt system.

The larger battery should offer up to 600km of range under WLTP testing, with charging speeds of up to 130kW. Production of the Ioniq 3 is planned to start in Europe by late 2026.

The Hyundai Ioniq 3 will play a key role in Hyundai’s wider electrification plans, aiming to offer electric versions of all models in Europe by 2027. It is designed to appeal to both private customers and fleet buyers as Hyundai expands its electric vehicle offerings.
