Hyundai has upgraded the Creta Electric with support for up to 100 kW DC fast charging, a notable improvement over the previous 50 kW charging capability. While the EV used to take around 58 minutes to charge from 10–80%, the new charging cuts this time to 39 minutes. This improvement comes via a software update, which will also be available to existing Creta Electric owners through an OTA rollout in phases. Aside from faster charging, the SUV’s engine options, hardware, and range remain unchanged. Here’s everything you need to know about the electric SUV.
Hyundai offers the Creta Electric with two battery options: a 42 kWh pack delivering a range of 390 kilometres and a larger 51.4kWh pack offering 473 kilometres on a single charge. The battery is neatly integrated into the SUV’s underbody, featuring a subtle, distinctive design. The smaller 42kWh variant produces 133bhp, while the 51.4kWh version generates a more powerful 169bhp.

The electrified model largely retains the look of the standard Creta, but sets itself apart with a closed front grille and redesigned bumpers with active air flaps. Its side profile remains familiar, featuring a black roof and pillars, while the 17-inch aero-styled alloy wheels give it a new, and a sporty edge. At the rear, the changes are subtle in the form of a revised bumper.

The e-SUV boasts a spacious cabin thanks to a 2610mm wheelbase, a 22-litre frunk, and a 433-litre boot. It comes with a grey and navy-blue color scheme, a new 3-spoke steering wheel, and a minimalist console with the gear selector on the steering column. The SUV also boasts eco-friendly seat materials and 8-way powered front seats.

The Creta Electric with the smaller battery is priced between Rs 18.02 lakh and Rs 22.33 lakh, while the long-range 51.4kWh version starts at Rs 20 lakh and goes up to Rs 23.96 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). Buyers can also opt for a home charging station at an extra cost of Rs 70,000.
