Hyundai announced the prices for the electric Creta at the Auto Expo last month, setting the stage for a head-to-head battle with several EVs in the segment, including the Tata Curvv. While both models have internal combustion engine (ICE) counterparts, they set themselves apart with distinct EV-specific characteristics and features. The Hyundai Creta Electric and Tata Curvv EV each bring a unique approach to the electric SUV segment, offering tailored experiences for those making the shift to electric mobility. Let’s explore the key differences and find out which of these models offers the best value for the discerning EV buyer.

Hyundai Creta Electric vs Tata Curvv EV: Powertrain

The Hyundai Creta EV has two battery choices. The first, a 42kWh pack, offers a range of 390 kilometres and a power output of 133bhp. A larger 51.4kWh battery increases the range to 473 kilometres and boosts power to 169bhp. Both configurations deliver a maximum torque of 200Nm. Tata's Curvv EV also provides two battery options, but with slightly larger capacities: 45kWh and 55kWh.

The 45kWh battery in the Curvv EV, paired with a single motor, delivers 148bhp—15bhp more than the Creta's smaller battery variant. However, the 55kWh version produces 165bhp, which is 4bhp lower than the Creta’s larger option. Both Curvv configurations maintain a torque output of 215Nm, giving it a notable edge in that department. The Curvv EV also offers a longer range of up to 502 kilometres.
