Hyundai Creta facelift to launch soon in India

Hyundai's best-selling Creta will soon get its first facelift in India.

The Hyundai Creta facelift, which was globally revealed last year, is finally expected to be launched in India very soon. Hyundai dealers have already started accepting bookings for the new model, but it’s all unofficial as of now. Official bookings are likely to commence soon.

The facelifted Creta, much like the recently launched facelifted Elite i20, gains subtle aesthetic changes to keep it fresh. The most prominent change up front is the new grille, which is now much larger, and sports Hyundai’s new ‘cascade’ effect. Then there’s the front bumper that features new bolder surrounds for fog lamps.

The rear will feature mildly tweaked lights and bumper, whereas the side profile will remain unchanged, expect for the new alloy wheel design. Inside, we can expect new colours for the dashboard and upholstery, but the overall design of the cabin will remain unchanged. Hyundai might add more equipment on the facelifted Creta, like the ventilated front seats which debuted on the new Verna.

Expect no mechanical changes on the 2018 Creta facelift. Which means that engine options of two diesels and one petrol are likely to continue on the updated model. The petrol and the bigger 1.6-litre diesel engine get the option of a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox in addition to the standard manual.

The prices for the updated Creta will likely see a very minor hike. The current Hyundai Creta is priced between ₹9.29 lakh – 14.59 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
