Hyundai reveals the Creta facelift at the 2016 Sao Paulo Motor Show in Brazil. To be launched in India during the first half of 2017.

There’s no doubt that the Hyundai Creta has been a runaway success for the Korean auto maker. And while the sales of the compact-SUV are still going strong, Hyundai will soon bring in the facelifted Creta to the Indian market. The company unveiled the refreshed Creta at the 2016 Sao Paulo Motor show. The Creta facelift is expected to be launched in India during the first half of 2017.

Updates on the new Creta are mainly cosmetic in nature, albeit they do make a lot of difference. Up front, the compact-SUV has received a thorough makeover as it gets a new aggressive front bumper, a larger three-slat hexagonal grille, re-designed fog-lamps with LED DRLs and a more prominent skid plate. The front-end looks markedly beefier in comparison to the current car. Around the side and back, changes are minimal, limited only to the redesigned tail-lamps and new alloy wheels.

The interior design is more or less identical to the current model, although it gets a new brown/black dual-tone upholstery. As is the case with the current version, the Creta facelift will also come loaded with features. In addition to the features that are already available, the new model gets cornering lights, hill-climb assist, tyre-pressure monitoring system, stability control, Apple Car Play/Android Auto, etc.

For the Indian market, powertrain options on the Creta facelift will remain unchanged. Which means there will be a choice between two diesel engines – 1.4 & 1.6 – and a 1.6 petrol. A 6-speed manual gearbox will come as standard while a 6-speed automatic will be offered with the petrol and 1.6-litre diesel.
