Hyundai Exter CNG with Twin Cylinders Launched, Hy-CNG Duo Variants Start at Rs 8.50 Lakh in India

Hyundai has launched the Exter Hy-CNG Duo in India. The new Hyundai Exter Hy-CNG Duo comes in three variants – S, SX, and Knight Edition SX. It ranges from Rs 8.50 lakh to Rs 9.38 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Hyundai has launched the Exter Hy-CNG Duo in India. Priced at Rs 8.50 lakh (starting price, ex-showroom), the Exter Hy-CNG Duo is equipped with twin-cylinder CNG technology. This technology includes two smaller CNG cylinders with a total capacity of 60 litres, resulting in increased boot space compared to the traditional CNG cars with a single-cylinder setup. Hyundai previously provided a single-cylinder arrangement only for its Exter CNG model. With the update, the Exter Hy-CNG Duo now joins the Tiago, Punch, Tigor, and Altroz CNG models in offering similar twin-cylinder CNG technology. Note that the single-cylinder Exter CNG will continue to be sold in the country along with the new version. 

The new Hyundai Exter Hy-CNG Duo comes in three variants – S, SX, and SX Knight Edition. Have a look at the variant-wise pricing of the model:

Hyundai Exter Hy-CNG Duo: Mechanical Specs

The Hyundai Exter Hy-CNG Duo is powered by a 1.2-litre Bi-Fuel (Petrol with CNG) engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Rather than a single-cylinder setup, the Exter Hy-CNG Duo comes with twin-cylinder tanks with an integrated electronic control unit (ECU), ensuring a seamless transition from petrol to CNG or vice versa.

In CNG mode, the vehicle makes 68bhp and 95.2Nm of torque, while the ARAI-certified fuel efficiency is rated at 27.1km/kg. Hyundai's factory-installed CNG kit comes with a 3-year warranty. 

Hyundai Exter Hy-CNG Duo: Features

Features-wise, the Exter Hy-CNG Duo packs in an electric sunroof, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, and more boot space. Safety-wise, the vehicle gets 6 airbags, a tyre pressure monitoring system, hill-start assist, and electronic stability control.

The Exter is the Korean carmaker's second product in the competitive compact-SUV segment and, since its launch in July 2023, the Hyundai Exter has surpassed the 93,000-unit sales mark in India.
