Hyundai Grand I10 Nios Side View

Hyundai has introduced its new dual-cylinder CNG setup in the Grand i10 Nios hatchback. It is the same technology we recently saw on the Exter compact SUV. Dubbed the Grand i10 Nios Hy-CNG Duo, the new model ranges from Rs 7.75 lakh for the Magna variant to Rs 8.30 lakh for the Sportz variant. The prices are ex-showroom, India. Compared to its equivalent petrol AMT variant, the Magna Hy-CNG Duo carry a premium of around Rs 32,000. The Sportz Hy-CNG Duo, on the other hand, costs roughly Rs 37,000 more than the Sportz petrol-AMT variant. For those planning to buy the single-cylinder CNG variants (also on sale), the price of the Grand i10 Nios Hy-CNG Duo might make you reconsider your decision since it costs just Rs 7,000 more than its single-cylinder CNG counterpart.

With this update, the Grand i10 Nios joins the Exter, Tiago, Punch, Tigor, and Altroz CNG models in offering similar twin-cylinder CNG technology. Like in the Exter Hy-CNG Duo, the twin-cylinder CNG technology in the Nios includes two smaller CNG cylinders with a total capacity of 60 litres, resulting in increased boot space over the traditional CNG cars.

With its advanced dual-cylinder CNG system, great fuel efficiency and safety features, the Grand i10 NIOS Hy-CNG Duo is designed to deliver a comfortable driving experience. I am confident our customers will appreciate Grand i10 Nios Hy-CNG Duo.'

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Hy-CNG Duo: Mechanical Specs

The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Hy-CNG Duo is powered by a 1.2-litre Bi-Fuel (Petrol with CNG) engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Rather than a single-cylinder setup, the Grand i10 Nios Hy-CNG Duo has twin-cylinder tanks with an integrated electronic control unit (ECU), ensuring a seamless transition from petrol to CNG and vice-versa.

In CNG mode, the new vehicle makes 68bhp and 95.2Nm of torque. When running on petrol, the car makes 82bhp and 114Nm. While the CNG version only offers a 5-speed manual gearbox, the petrol-powered model also gets a 5-speed automatic transmission as an option.
