Hyundai has hiked prices of the Elite i20 by Rs. 2,000 and of the Creta between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 20,000

Hyundai India has hikes prices for it popular Elite i20 and Creta during an unusual time in the festive season, when other car makers are offering discounts and freebies on the other hand. Prices of the Hyundai Elite i20 have been hiked by Rs. 2,000. The 1.4 litre petrol and diesel engined variants of the Creta are subject to a price hike of Rs. 10,000 while the 1.6 litre diesel engined Creta bears a price hike of Rs. 20,000. Apart from the top-end 1.6 SX Plus diesel Creta which is subjected to a price hike of Rs. 10,000. The price hike has come into effect as of October 14, 2015.

It has been reported that top-end trims of the Hyundai Creta are receiving the most demand for both petrol and diesel models. In September of 2015, Hyundai sold 7,320 units of the Creta, which is the highest among all its rivals. The Creta has received great market response ever since its launch in July of 2015. So much so that there is a three to four month waiting period for the SUV, while the rather refined diesel automatic model has a significantly long waiting period of six to eight months!

The Hyundai Elite i20 is doing very well for the company too with a sales figure of 11,702 units during September of 2015.

Earlier this year in August, Hyundai hiked prices of all its models ranging from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 30,000, citing the reason of higher input costs. However, the hike was not applicable on the then recently launched Creta.
