Hyundai I20 Front View

Hyundai Motor India on September 8 launched the latest iteration of the i20 in the Indian market, with prices starting at Rs 6.99 lakh for the entry-level Era MT and going up to Rs 11.01 lakh for the top-spec Asta (O) IVT. Prices are ex-showroom. The bookings for the facelifted model are already underway at select dealerships. The premium hatchback is offered with a single powertrain –  a 1.2-litre petrol engine. This engine is capable of churning out 82bhp and 115Nm of peak torque. On offer are two transmission options: a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic. With this update, the manufacturer no longer offers the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol mill. However, the turbo-petrol unit is on the cards for the N-Line variants, which are due for a makeover soon. The exterior design elements include a redesigned grille, headlamps with inverted L-shaped LED daytime running lights, altered front and rear bumpers, and a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels. Similar to the Verna, the new Hyundai logo is now positioned on the bonnet rather than the grille.
