While Hyundai had already confirmed plans to launch an EV specifically designed for the Indian market, it has now announced its launch timeline – which is by 2027. In addition to this, Hyundai has revealed plans for 26 new model launches in India by FY2030. These include seven all-new nameplates, among which are a new MPV and a dedicated off-road SUV, both of which are entirely new segments for Hyundai in the Indian market. At this stage, the exact details about upcoming models are unavailable. However, industry reports indicate that both the MPV and off-roader will be positioned competitively to compete strongly within their respective segments. They will help Hyundai in penetrating new and popular territories, which are currently dominated by manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki and Mahindra.
As of now, there is no information on the platform, powertrain, or features, but the inclusion of these body types highlights Hyundai’s intent to tap into the growing demand for roomy family vehicles and rugged terrain-capable models.

Hyundai may bring an affordable people mover in India, and there's a good chance that it will borrow some underpinnings from its sibling brand Kia, specifically the Carens Clavis. If positioned for the mass market, this new Hyundai MPV could strike a balance between affordability and practicality. However, similar to the Creta and Seltos, which share platforms but look and feel quite different, Hyundai is likely to give its MPV a unique character. Buyers can also expect new styling, a unique interior layout.
India’s off-road SUV segment may be niche, but it includes some of the most talked-about models, such as the Mahindra Thar. Hyundai hasn’t officially pulled the curtain on its upcoming off-roader, but if speculations are to be believed, the SUV could take on the Thar directly. That said, Hyundai might also aim higher, entering the more premium end of the segment alongside the Toyota Fortuner.

With a strong platform, off-road styling, and Hyundai’s notable feature package, the SUV could attract buyers who want rugged capability without compromising everyday comfort.
