Hyundai Motor Company has announced several growth expansion plans at its inaugural CEO Investor Day held outside Korea, including the launch of an India-specific EV.

Hyundai Motor Company has confirmed that it will launch an EV specifically designed for the Indian market, marking a significant addition to its product lineup in the country. As of now, there are no significant details about the upcoming EV, but the company says it will be tailored to suit local driving conditions and customer preferences. It will also be supported by a localised supply chain, reinforcing Hyundai's commitment to making EV ownership more accessible. The exact launch date of the EV has not been announced, but it is expected to go on sale by 2030. Alongside the India-specific launch, Hyundai also shared several key global announcements. Here's a quick overview.
The Korean carmaker's future roadmap features strong electrification plans and market-specific offerings. These include launching over 18 hybrid models, a mid-size pickup truck for North America, and region-specific EVs such as the Ioniq 3 for Europe.

The company has also planned a locally developed EV for India and new electric models for China (Elexio SUV and C-segment electric sedan).
India will play an imperative role in Hyundai’s global production strategy, with the Pune facility said to deliver 2.5 lakh units by 2030 as part of a larger plan to boost capacity by 12 lakh units worldwide. This move will underscore the market's growing importance in the Korean brand's expansion plans. In addition to India, Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) in Georgia is set to add 5 lakh (500,000) units, while the dedicated EV plant in Ulsan will contribute 2 lakh (200,000) units to the global production effort. CKD facilities across Vietnam, North Africa, and several other regions are projected to collectively contribute approximately 2.5 lakh (250,000) units.

Hyundai Motor has set a target of 55.5 lakh (5.55 million) global vehicle sales by 2030, with electrified models playing a pivotal role. The company projects that 60 percent of its total sales, which is about 33 lakh (3.3 million) vehicles, will be electrified, driven by robust demand in North America, Europe, and Korea.
