MG is set to launch the Majestor SUV in India on February 12, 2026. However, ahead of that, the model has made its debut in the Middle East under a new name – the MG Rakan. Notably, this is MG’s first model with an Arabic name, derived from the word ‘Rukn’, which means strength or foundation. The SUV is not a limited-run model and will be retailed across MG’s Middle East dealerships, while globally it is known by multiple names such as Maxus D90 Max, Maxus Territory and LDV D90. Let’s take a closer look at key details of the MG Rakan.
Visually, the MG Rakan is a rugged SUV with a bigger gloss-black grille, vertical LED DRLs, and split headlamps. Its front bumper looks chunky, and there are faux skid plates. On the side, the SUV stands out with newly designed dual-tone alloy wheels and black cladding along the lower doors.

The rear gets connected LED taillamps, a redesigned bumper, and silver skid plates. MG has not yet revealed the final Majestor, though these design cues are likely to be embraced.
The interior of the MG Rakan has a brown and white theme. It is equipped with multi-zone climate control, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12-speaker JBL sound system, a digital driver’s display, and powered front seats with an integrated massage function, leatherette seat upholstery, rear AC vents, and USB charging outlets across rows. The Rakan offers a massive cargo capacity of up to 2,400 litres with the rear two rows folded down.
The MG Rakan comes equipped with a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and a standard 4WD system.
For the Indian market, the MG Majestor is expected to use the same 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine (212bhp/478Nm) as the Gloster, coupled with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive setup.
