JSW Motors has teased the Jetour T2-based plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV for India in an advertisement in the Economic Times. The teaser indicates JSW’s efforts to expand its dealer network ahead of the SUV’s launch with the ‘Join the Drive’ campaign. The upcoming plug-in hybrid (PHEV) SUV will be a product of a partnership between JSW Motors and Chinese automaker Chery. While the vehicle will be based on the Jetour T2, it will be marketed under a JSW badge with a unique model name for India. Its production is set to take place at JSW Motors’ new greenfield manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra. The T2 SUV is 4,785mm long, 2,006mm wide, and 1,875mm tall, with a 2,800mm wheelbase. Its upright, Defender-like stance and muscular, boxy profile create an imposing yet purposeful look on the road. Key elements include a bold grille, square LED headlamps, chunky wheel arches with all-terrain tyres, roof rails, and side steps.

The Jetour T2 houses a massive 15.6-inch central touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, and customisable multi-colour ambient lighting, all of which enhance its cabin experience. A panoramic sunroof is also available.

While India-specific specifications are yet to be officially confirmed, JSW Motors is expected to introduce the Jetour T2 SUV with a 1.5-litre plug-in hybrid unit. The SUV is likely to be available in both front-wheel-drive (FWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) setups.
Internationally, the T2 i-DM employs a 1.5‑litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 154bhp and 220Nm, and a plug-in hybrid setup with two front-mounted electric motors to produce a combined output of 221bhp of maximum power and 390Nm of peak torque. The SUV houses a 26.7kWh battery pack, allowing it to cover up to 139 kilometres.
