This comparison between the Kia Carens Clavis EV and Tata Harrier EV explores how they differ in specs, performance, and everyday usability.

The Kia Carens Clavis EV and Tata Harrier EV represent two distinctly different approaches to electric mobility in India. The Carens Clavis, the country’s first indigenously manufactured 7-seater electric MPV, is priced from Rs 17.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and offers up to 490 km of range from a 51.4kWh battery. It delivers 169bhp and 255Nm of torque, achieving 0-100km/h in 8.4 seconds. In contrast, the Tata Harrier EV, starting at Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom), is a premium 5-seater SUV available with 65kWh and 75kWh battery options, delivering a claimed range of up to 627 km. It also offers an optional dual-motor AWD setup producing 504Nm, with a 0-100km/h sprint time of 6.3 seconds. This comparison explores how they differ in specs, performance, and everyday usability.
The Kia Carens Clavis EV is offered in four variants: HTK+, HTX, HTX ER, and HTX+ ER, with prices starting at Rs 17.99 lakh and going up to Rs 24.49 lakh for the fully loaded model.

The Tata Harrier EV is larger in length (4,607mm vs 4,550mm) and significantly wider (2,137mm vs 1,800mm) than the Kia Carens Clavis EV.

While their heights are comparable, the Kia Carens Clavis EV has a slightly longer wheelbase (2,780mm vs 2,740mm) and offers a 7-seater configuration, unlike the Tata Harrier EV's 5-seater capacity.

Based on the table, the Tata Harrier EV generally offers superior battery and performance specifications compared to the Kia Carens Clavis EV. The Harrier EV comes with larger battery packs (65kWh/75kWh) and consequently delivers higher power output (235bhp) and torque (315Nm) than the Carens Clavis EV, which offers 42kWh/51.4kWh battery options, resulting in 133bhp/169bhp and 255Nm torque, respectively.

This translates to a significantly longer range for the Tata Harrier EV (538 km/627 km) compared to the Kia Carens Clavis EV (404 km/490 km). Both vehicles, however, feature a single-speed automatic transmission.
The Kia Carens Clavis EV boasts a rich equipment list, headlined by twin 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and the driver interface. Additional highlights include an 8-speaker Bose sound system, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, powered driver’s seat, ambient lighting, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality.

On the safety front, it offers six airbags as standard, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 advanced driver assistance features.
In comparison, the Tata Harrier EV retains the dashboard layout of its ICE counterpart but introduces a fresh white-and-grey interior. The main attraction is a 14.5-inch Harman infotainment screen featuring Samsung’s Neo QLED technology.

It also comes equipped with Boss Mode for the second-row seat, an illuminated Tata logo on a new four-spoke steering wheel, a wide panoramic sunroof, a 10-inch digital cluster, ambient lighting, V2L and V2V charging, and multiple drive and terrain modes, positioning it as a capable and future-focused EV.
