Kia commences mass production of the Seltos

The Korean car maker has received an overwhelming 23,311 bookings for its new mid-size SUV ahead of its market launch.

One of the most highly anticipated new cars in India at the moment is undoubtedly the Kia Seltos. With its remarkable styling and lengthy equipment list, the Seltos has been on everyone’s minds. As the company heads closer to the launch date of the car, the Korean car maker opened pre-bookings to cater the excitement surrounding it. It has now been reported by Kia that it has received 23,311 bookings in the three weeks since it opened bookings, a figure that is commendable considering the low sales graph of the Indian automobile industry at the moment. It is also worth noting that Kia is fully gearing up to match up to this high demand as the company has commenced mass production of its first product for India.

The invaluable contribution made by the government of Andhra Pradesh has enabled us to achieve our target of manufacturing the Seltos in record time. The first Seltos is the symbol of our promise and commitment of Kia to the Indian market,” said, Kookhyun Shim, Managing Director & CEO of Kia Motors India.

The Kia Seltos will be offered with a choice of 1.5 litre and 1.4 litre petrol engines with the choice of manual and automatic gearboxes while the diesel model will have a 1.5 litre unit on offer with manual and automatic transmission options.
