Kia has revealed the EV2, its smallest fully electric car to date, at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show. The EV2 comes with both standard and long-range battery options, alongside a premium and adventurous GT-line variant. Production of the standard-range model will begin in February 2026, followed by the long-range and GT-line versions in June. While the global market launch dates are yet to be finalised, there’s no update yet on Kia’s smallest born-electric car for India. Here’s a closer look at the design, battery, and other features of the Kia EV2.
The Kia EV2 offers two battery options. The first is a 42.2kWh standard-range unit, capable of delivering a range of up to 317 kilometres. The second is a larger 61.0kWh long-range pack, capable of delivering up to 448 kilometres of range.
The Kia EV2, built on a 400V architecture, comes equipped with rapid DC fast charging, allowing the standard-range model to charge in just 29 minutes and the long-range variant in around 30 minutes. It is the first Kia model to offer 11 kW and 22 kW AC charging at launch. The EV’s connected features include an integrated EV Route Planner linked to Kia Charge, Plug & Charge for seamless access, and bidirectional energy flow via V2L and V2G, allowing drivers to power external devices or return energy to the grid.

Built around Kia’s award-winning ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, the EV2 features upright styling cues and contemporary elements seen on Kia’s larger models. Major design highlights of the EV2 include vertical daytime running lights, the Star Map Light Signature, a pronounced shoulder line, and sculpted wheel arches. The wheel options range from 16 to 19 inches.

The GT‑line variant stands out with its adventurous character, highlighted by bold body-coloured trim and high-gloss accents on the bumper and lower front grille.

The interior features fabric-rich materials, ambient lighting, and eco-friendly finishes. It is equipped with Kia’s triple-screen ccNC infotainment system, including a 12.3-inch driver display, a 12.3-inch central touchscreen, and a 5.3-inch climate control screen, offering seamless connectivity and OTA updates. The EV2 also introduces ccNC Lite, a more accessible version with the same layout and core features. Other highlights include sliding and reclining rear seats, segment-leading legroom of up to 958mm, 403 litres of boot space, a 15-litre frunk, and multiple seating arrangements.

Drivers also benefit from full Kia App integration, Digital Key with NFC, Bluetooth, and Ultra-Wideband, OTA updates, Features on Demand, and an optional eight-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system.
