The Kia EV6 has received a significant update with bold cosmetic changes and an upgraded, larger battery for improved performance. What’s more intriguing is the brand's decision to offer the new model exclusively as a powerful all-wheel-drive variant, moving away from the previous mix of rear-wheel and all-wheel drive options. Despite these changes, the price remains in line with the previous model, raising an important question: How do the refined visual and performance improvements compare to the earlier version of the EV6? Let’s find out.

Kia EV6 Front

Kia EV6- New vs Old: Looks

In a bold departure from the previous model, the refreshed Kia EV6 completely redefines its front design. The vertically stacked LED headlights with their pixelated appeal are replaced by a more aggressive look, featuring sharply angled, triangular LED daytime running lights that create a striking and unique signature.

While the new lighting design grabs the spotlight, familiar features like the closed-off grille and air intake channels with unique inserts on the bumper remain unchanged. Moreover, the gloss black lower body strip, flush door handles, and black ORVMs create a consistent look between the two generations.

The new alloy wheels add a fresh touch, keeping the same 19-inch size but with a more modern design.

At the rear, the updates are more subtle, with a redesigned diffuser featuring horizontal strakes, replacing the simpler faux silver skid plate of the previous model.

Kia EV6- New vs Old: Interior

The interior of the refreshed Kia EV6 sees some key improvements. The most noticeable is the transition to a sportier three-spoke heated steering wheel from the earlier two-spoke design. The dual 12.3-inch screens are still present, but their surrounding housing now has a smoother, rounded shape compared to the original's more angular look.

Despite these changes, the overall dashboard and centre console design are unchanged. A practical new feature is the inclusion of a fingerprint scanner, a feature not found in the original EV6.

Kia EV6- New vs Old: Features

Despite the updates to its design and battery, the Kia EV6 maintains much of its core feature set, ensuring a familiar and well-equipped driving experience. The 12-inch augmented reality HUD continues to display key information, while the 14-speaker Meridian sound system and 10-way powered, ventilated front seats add comfort. The safety net continues to include an electronic parking brake, a 360-degree camera system with blind spot monitoring, 8 airbags, and Level-2 ADAS.

Kia EV6- New vs Old: Powertrain

The primary powertrain change for the 2025 Kia EV6 is a larger 84kWh battery. Unlike the previous model, which had single and dual-motor options, the new EV6 is exclusively available with a dual-motor setup, providing all-wheel drive. Power and torque figures for the dual-motor version remain at 321bhp and 605Nm, respectively.

Priced at the same Rs 65.90 lakh ex-showroom as the previous GT-Line AWD, the new Kia EV6 delivers enhanced styling and notably greater range for the same cost.
