Kia Syros EV Spied

Kia is preparing to expand its global electric car range with the Syros EV. Spy shots have revealed a camouflaged Kia Syros EV prototype plugged into a public DC fast charger, offering the first glimpse of the model during testing. Once launched, the Syros EV could become an important model in Kia’s wider electric vehicle strategy. The Syros EV positions its charging port on the front fender, and a similar flap on the opposite side hints at the possibility of dual charging ports. It is a noticeable change compared to the Clavis EV, which has its charging port at the front.

This small but smart feature could make life easier, especially in crowded parking spaces or busy charging stations.

Kia Syros EV: Exterior

On the outside, the Syros EV looks a lot like its petrol-powered version but adds some EV touches. Bright Lime Green brake callipers, usually seen on Kia’s GT models, suggest it may have a sportier side.

Aerodynamic alloy wheels and disc brakes all around add to its efficiency and braking strength. Plus, front and rear parking sensors hint that ADAS safety features will likely be part of the package.

Kia Syros EV: Interior

The Syros EV is expected to keep the same layout as the petrol model but with EV-focused software in the infotainment and digital displays. Kia might also introduce new colours and materials to give it a fresh look. This means buyers will still get the comfort and familiarity of a Kia cabin, but with an electric twist.

Under the skin, the Syros EV will use Kia’s K1 platform, also found in the Hyundai Casper, Inster, and Exter. It could come with battery choices like 42kWh and 49kWh packs, offering around 300km and 355km of range.

There could also be a larger 51.4kWh option for longer trips. These choices would allow Kia to appeal to a wide range of customers in the growing electric SUV market.
